Advantages Excellent for fitness

Disadvantages Injury risk from strenuous excercise

I used to be a very overweight 5'4 female weighing in at around fifteen stone when I started kickboxing.
I am now 10st 12lbs and reducing steadily.
I really look forward to every session.
On average most students attend 1-2 times a week, however I love it so much I attend 6 sessions!
Overall the best benefit is increased fitness.
I feel ready for anything that people ask me to do, my flexibility has greatly improved and I feel great!
You still have to put 100% in though, and I see no better sport to do that in.

Kickboxing classes vary but consist generally of pad work (kicking large handheld shields, Various exercises (I.E Press ups), Bag work, Grading (belt gradings I.E black belt/Sash), sparring and stretching.

I have also participated in lots of semi contact fights, been 3rd once!
Not many people seem to go on to the fighting though, but I absoloutley love it. If I don't spar it's still good but I would rather spar all lesson!

There are some really nice socials and most people seem really nice. I disagree with some peoples' opinion that it is expensive as it is more motivating than any gym I have been to and the same price (Less for the sessions you will probably do.)

I get a lot out of it and I recommend it to anyone find a good club and go for it

If you are in Croydon area/ Wallington or even Crawley (I think) 0208 668 2769
I hope some people who read this get down to anyone near you. I think there is a club in Dorking but I don't have their number and possibly upper london clubs.
