Advantages easy to use, excellent for a child who won't fit a tandam pushchair

Disadvantages bit pricey

When my 4 year old grew out of the double buggy he shared with his brother I thought now what do I do? you may think well at 4 he should be walking everywhere anyway, but he cannot walk properly, poor chap looks like a thunderbird puppet as he half runs along, so you can probably imagine he gets worn out very quickly, so after getting a single puschair for my younger son, I invested in a Buggy Board.

The buggy board is a pretty simple idea, basically its a platform on wheels, that attaches to the back of my pushchair.

Back in April, I took myself down to Baby Bits in Bishop's Stortford, and had a look at one of the boards, they had two different types, the buggy board and the kiddy board, the only difference between them, apart from the shape is that they are made for different types of chassis. The shop assistant was very helpful, allowing me to try out the board on display, before I made any commitment, because at £45 they are not particually cheap to buy

The board has an attachment that fixes on the bar at the back of the pushchair, This is a block, that does up with an allum key (which is supplied) you have to much sure this is done up tightly so that it doesn't move, the board then fits into the hole at the front, this is a bit like a large keyhole shape, you push the board in and then down, and to release the board again, push down on the red button at the top.

The borad also comes with a cord, that attaches through a small hole in the middle of the board, this is so it can be pulled up and tied to the back of the pushchair when not in use, but to be honest this doesn't particually work very well at all, It is just as quick and easy to take the board of and put it in your basket under the pushchair.

Well after deciding I would invest in a board the next job I had was to choose a design, they do a plain black, or a Ladybird, frog, or blue bunny, I gave this choice to my son, who opted for the Green Frog.

I then gave the sales assistant my £45 and with my board in a large carrier bag, headed for home eagily awaiting the moment I could fix my board on properly.

It took me around 15 minutes to fix the board on ready for use, and it was quite easy to do, then came the moment of truth, trying it out in the street for the first time, well I had never heard so much laughter from my two children, they thought it was hillarious, but seriously, it works brilliantly, it goes up and down kerbs like a dream.

I don't know where I would be without the Buggy Board now, If I have to walk long distances with my two sons I always have it on, and sometimes if temptation gets the better of me, you can see me scooting along on it down the cycle paths in Harlow.

It's the best money I have ever spent.

Good review. My sister-in-law has one and the only problem she has is that her son gets tired standing up. But someone has already thought how to solve that one and come up with the Hitchhiker Seat - available from PHP Baby at £40 (this is not meant to sound like an ad, honest!) I bought one for our son and he loves it. I've even written a review to "spread the news"... Regards, TT.
