At first I have to say I felt very uncomfortable - the lead singer looks SO like the late great Freddie! I wondered whether this was taking the whole thing too far, but after a while I realised taht this was the very best tribute he could pay to his hero and I settled down to enjoy the concert. They finish in style with We Are The Champions and God Save The Queen executed wearing the Union Jack a la Freddie!
The music is spot on and the lead singers voice and mannerisms are so like Freddie it is unbelievable. They even play Bohemian Rhapsody using some Queen tapes to get the full effect and it works well.

Here in the Midlands we have one or two venues which specialise in tribute bands. As a great fan of Queen and one who actually had the good fortune to see them live on two occasions I went along to see Killer Queen. At first I have to say I felt very uncomfortable - the lead singer looks SO like the late great Freddie! I wondered whether this was taking the whole thing too far, but after a while I realised taht this was the very best tribute he could pay to his hero and I settled down to enjoy the concert. And enjoy it I did! They played Queen hits from all their albums right from Keep Yourself Alive - a personal favourite of mine and it was near perfect - to the stuff off the more recent albums. They played a string of hits - Fat Bottomed Girls, Killer Queen, Don't Stop Me Now, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, to name but a few. I have seen them three times now and each time the set is different as they seem to be able to turn their hand to any Queen track. In our party there were two of us who had actually seen Queen and we had to admit that these guys were very nearly as good. I could quite imagine Freddie in heaven rocking along. This band is a true tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time and are well worth the money. My comment when I first saw them was this - 'I want to see this band again soon. I want to feel this good on a regular basis' I came away feeling THAT good. A final comment for the ladies - the guitarist doesn't look like Brian May - sorry girls!
Advantages: F A N T A S T I C Disadvantages: the show came to an end
"I've taken my bows, and my curtain calls".....ooops just thinking about it makes me sing the songs.
We Will Rock You the musical is a story packed full of songs by...yes you've guessed it Queen, it was put together by Brian May and Ben Elton after all.
The story is set sometime in the future on a planet once called earth now Planet Mall. It is an age of boy and girl bands (remember the 90s and recent times??) all the kids in the land are identical in what they think, wear do, use. (they have been brain washed by the KillerQueen and her cronies) that is of course apart from the few in the resistance known as the Bohemians, they are rebels who this that there once was a time when kids formed their own bands, played their own instruments and wrote their own songs the Bohemians call that time "The Rhapsody" and the Bohemians set out ...
Advantages: Amazing songs, great sets, effective lighting, strong vocal performances Disadvantages: The plot - it's just meh.
. The show is set far into the future, where real music is banned in a totalitarian state called Planet Mall which is run by a company called Globalsoft.
Individuality is repressed by the police who take their orders from their ruler, KillerQueen. KillerQueen has heard rumours of a prophecy suggesting that some musical instruments remain in a special place and has ordered followers of this prophecy, the Bohemians, to be repelled.
In the midst of this our two protagonists, the appallingly named Galileo and Scaramouche, find themselves outcasts for each having individual thoughts and shunning the identikit life being imposed upon them by KillerQueen.
A meeting with the Bohemians draws them ever closer as they realise that perhaps the prophecy might lead to a better way of life for all, and they set off following a ?bright star? to find ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of We Will Rock You
Advantages: Brilliant musical tribute! Disadvantages: The venue is not the best!
The Story:
We Will Rock You is set on a futuristic Earth which has become one big consumer market place run by Global Soft Corp, headed by ?KillerQueen? (who is a bit like Cruella De Vil) and the planet has been re-named ?Planet Mall?.
Everyone wears the same clothes, listens to the same music and thinks the same way (seems we are well on our way then!) No-one has any original thought anymore and all music is computer generated, live music is banned! Anyone showing individuality is sent to the ?Seven Seas of Rye? to be brainwashed (to the tune of Flash).
The girls are called the ga-ga girls and only care about shopping and meeting a man and the guys are called the boyzone and are all like teen pin ups.
There are some rebels who call themselves ?Bohemians? and believe that once the world was free and everyone could express ...
