You're still gasping in awe at the sheer awfulness of the pun in the title aren't you? Fret not my lovelies, it gets better after this (probably, I give no guarantees though).
Kinder Surprise eggs are a teeny little miracle in chocolatey form. If you haven't heard of them and eaten one, then I'm both shocked and amazed, frankly. Just a little bit of history to start us off; Kinder chocolate is made by the good people of Ferrero Spa (founded in 1946 in Italy by the Ferrero family). No doubt you're already painfully aware of their heinous crimes against advertising "Ah, Mr Ambassador, with these chocolates you are really spoiling us, no?" but they should not be castigated for this, as in the momentous year of 1974 they took the inspired decision to combine the joyous worlds of chocolate and toys. Neither they nor I have looked back since.
Kinder Surprises are about 2 ½ inches tall by about 2 inches wide. They come wrapped in red and white foil and are available pretty much everywhere for 42 of your hard earned pennies. This is quite pricey bearing in mind that you get nowhere near as much chocolate as in an ordinary bar, but you do have the consolation of a dinky wee toy. On the outside is the Kinder logo, the ingredients list (I'm absolutely not typing that out - suffice to say, if you eat 20 of them you may just feel a wee bit queasy) and a warning not to give them to children under 3. Well, preaching to the converted there I feel - why spoil children with these when you could scoff them all yourself?
Open the wrapper and you have, well, a small chocolate egg (no surprises there, then). The egg is easily snapped in half lengthways and is hollow, the chocolate being a sort of shell around the toy container. The outside of the chocolate shell is milk chocolate and the inside is white chocolate. The chocolate is smooth, milky and migraine inducingly sweet - much more so than standard milk chocolate such as Dairy Milk. This sounds like a negative point, but no…one of the beautiful things about Kinder Surprises is that most of the weight is taken up by the toy - the actual chocolate content is probably only that of one or two individual pieces of Dairy Milk, so there's not enough chocolate to rot your teeth or bring on a serious sugar rush (in case you're interested you need to eat approximately 8 of these to get a proper high - I have investigated on your behalf. I'm good like that).
Now on to the good stuff…the toy! This comes in an oblong plastic container about an inch and a half long that needs to be popped in half to access said toy. Here we encounter the second beautiful thing about Kinder Surprises - the toy container, whilst having limited range and being a bit tricky to aim can, with dedicated practice, be used quite successfully as a weapon. I tend to wait until one of my pupils isn't listening and then pop it at their head, however, there are no hard and fast rules here. I invite you all to find a method of attack that works for you.
The toys come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Sometimes they follow a theme (which at the moment seems to be Santa's elves) and most of the time they're just bafflingly random. Occasionally the toys come ready made (this is always a bit of a disappointment), but most of the time you make them yourself, often with the exciting addition of stickers. In the last week I've managed to scoff 6 Kinder Surprises and I have got: 2 odd red hole punches (odd because they only punch one hole), a teeny tiny elf sellotape dispenser, an ickle elf post-it note pad, a snail in a rowing boat and a swimming snail. Also inside the toy container part you get instructions for making the toy, a warning that you really shouldn't share this with toddlers and an invitation to the magic kingdom at www.magic-kinder.com. For this you get a code that you can type in to access a 'prize'. This is just a game you can download to your desktop, but it's diverting nonetheless. There are also options for Spongebob Squarepants etc sections, but my attention span wasn't long enough to explore these.
Those of you who know me know that there's absolutely no way I paid for 6 of Kinder Surprises myself, and yes, I did indeed steal them. It's worse this time though - a parent donated them as prizes for the weekly star pupils and I went right on ahead and pinched them anyway. I know no shame, and stolen chocolate is altogether much nicer than the stuff you have to pay for.
Advantages: cheap in multi-packs, lovely chocolate, bonus toy Disadvantages: impossibility of collecting entire range, near impossible to open plastic container

Abit about the kinder surprise!
------------------------------------------
Kinder surprise's first started in 1972 in Italy, by the company Ferrero. They are sold world wide. and are very popular, the only place they are not sold is The United States, as they are deemed to be a choking hazard.
Kinder means children in german, so translated, they are ... ...egg. It has the words kinder with a black K and inder in orange letters, below that is the word surprice in multi coloured lettering.
On the wrapper it also contains the ingredients, which i will list later in my review. It has the warnings and a description of what you are purchasing.
I do love the wrapping as it is very easily disposable, you can just screw it up into a small ball, and hardly takes up any bin space.
The egg

Kinder eggs. Children eggs. Completely over done jokes like the title spring to mind. I had my very first one on my very first trip to Germany when I was 7, and haven’t stopped eating them since. But gosh darn it, what are they? Kinder eggs are a new generation of kiddie products. Is it a chocolate bar? Is it a toy? It’s both. The chocolate comes in the form of a hollow egg containing a plastic cylinder. Inside this there’s a toy ... ...password style codes for the Kinder website – www.magic-kinder.com *O*O*O* The Chocolate *O*O*O* Even the chocolate in a Kinder egg isn’t what you’d expect. Kinder has a huge range but their “Kinder Surprise eggs” are the only ones who have stuck around. You wouldn’t pay for such a small bit of chocolate or for a small plastic toy…but put the toy IN the chocolate…and you have a hit ! These eggs are going to be around for years. (Remember Nestlé Disney Magic Balls? How naff were they ?!! )

Kinder surprise has been around for age's, I can remember them when I was a child but I forgot about them untill my friend came round one night and bought my little girl one.
As Hollie-rose unwapped the kinder surprise, all the memories came back, they hadn't change at all.

Kinder Surprise originated in 1974, in Italy, when Ferrero decided to expand and launched a series of brands such as Kinder Chocolate, Kinder Cereal, Kinder Delice, Kinder Bueno, all of which were dedicated to children.
The chocolate eggs arrived in 1989 and immediately became the market leader in Italy.
Since then there have been various types of Kinder Surprise eggs, small and large. ~~~~~~~~ THE CHOCOLATE ~~~~~~~

Kinder Maxi, Have you ever heard of it? I hadn't until today when I opened the box which we put our chocolate biscuits in and there it was!! Believe it or not (after all these chocolate ops I have done recentley) I have not been eating as much as I used to.
This being something new to me I think it would be disrepectful of me not to try this!!
So, Kinder Maxi, is a small bar 10 and a half centimetres long and aprox 2 centimeters wide. So as you can tell much smaller than your average bar of chocolate. The wrapper is a shiny plastic wrapper in kinder colours, orange and white. With the words 'Kinder chocolate' and in big light blue letters 'Maxi'. The bar is 21g. It has a list of ingredients but these are not to be listed on here. The wrapper really does not give much away about this product to be honest. I have no idea ...

Advantages: Taste, cool looking packaging and fact that it's full Disadvantages: Very messy, bad packaging
chocolate under you fingernails. Not only that but you also have a part melted creme egg because you have touched it with you warm fingers so much. But it looks good!
Now for the outer chocolate. Don't be fooled by the Kindersuprise with it's 2 mm thick chocolate wall the creme egg's wall is mighty thick around 5-8 mm. This still may not seem like much but trust me it is sufficient. The chocolate itself well it's cadbury's what more do I have to say. It's good.
The creme. Now here comes the interesting part. The look of it, well although you don't actually look at the centre of the egg much as you are stuffing it into your mouth as quickly as possible Cadbury have done a great effort in making the centre of the egg exactly as a normal egg with a yellow yolk almost always right in the centre of the egg. Surrounded by a white creme ...
Advantages: Too nice!! Disadvantages: Not big enough!
Kinder have done it again, why? When i was a young 'un' i had to have a kindersuprise now im older i have to have the more grown version the kinder bueno.
I am addicted to them, i have one most day's i am trying to cut down from every day.
I saw the advert on the TV and thought it was hilarious, i had to try one!!
The packaging is the typical orange and white wrapper in huge letters on the front is the name BUENO, screeming at you!!
This cost me a 37p from my local newsagents.
As you open the outer paper and take out the bar they are individually wrapped in a clear wrapper, incase you want to save one till later!!!!
So you open the second layer, and you can smell the yummy Kinder chocolate. Each bar has about 4 pieces of chocolate, each piece being around 2cm long by about 1.5 cm wide.
The chocolate is quite thin, as ...
