Well… Here I am - finally trying to find the time to write a review on something… anything, actually as I seem to have some serious issues juggling everything that needs to be juggled these days - as well as lots of other stuff that doesn't!
ANYWAY…

Shore (who of course had worked onKing Kongdirector Peter Jackson'sLord of the Ringsseries). The good news is that Howard still managed to write an honorable score; the bad news is that it's no more than honorable. For some, the biggest disappointment may be that Howard didn't find more inspiration in the film's 1930s setting. Once in a while he inserts a vaguely jazzy flourish (the brief clarinet passages in "Defeat Is Always Momentary" for instance) but the period detail is kept to a minimum. Having more may have helped give the score a shot of much-needed individuality. Action scenes, for instance, are set to the opulently orchestrated, frantic percussive rumble that is Hollywood short-hand for, well, action scenes. "Head Towards the Animals" and "Beauty Killed the Beast III" are just the most typical examples of that style: Howard gives these bravura numbers the requisite pounding intensity, but can we be blamed for feeling that we've heard them dozens of times before? Similarly, the composer sticks to the expected when he needs to get more contemplative, as on "A Fateful Meeting" (soothing strings, soothing clarinet) or "Beautiful" (flutes to suggest the exotic locale). In short, this album is everything you expect it to be. Which sometimes isn't quite enough.--Elisabeth Vincentelli

...2 game of Peter Jackson's King Kong! That's what!
Isn't it ironic that at a point where countless lucky sods are out there playing their new next gen PS3's, here I am reviewing an old school PS2 game? Oh well… C'est la vie… I still love the PS2 as there's plenty of life left in it yet (*SOB!!!* Lucky PS3 owning SWINES!!! *SNIFF! SNIFF!*).
Sorry… I'll get on with it now!

THE ... ...King Kong follows the plot of the film very faithfully - but has some extra points within the game that allows for some very new and exciting gameplay moments - some of which I'm sure I'll touch upon later.
The characters in the game are pretty damned faithful reproductions of the characters in the film - and are all thankfully also voiced by the original cast - so there's no question about authenticity. I'll give you a brief rundown of the main ...

Advantages: Not a bad game for the first hour or so, good graphics, nice score Disadvantages: A second-rate FPS with skin-deep puzzles
...it's full name: Peter Jackson's King Kong The Official Game Of The Movie. Phew!
There are two styles of play, the first person-perspective sections which see you play as Jack Driscoll make up the majority of the game. There are realistic touches to the view so that the limbs are not just animated to be armed with weapons. Also adding to the realism is the walking speed being affected by the terrain and the breathing sound effects. Weapons-wise, ... ...game sees you play as King Kong. The third person view used gives the impression of the size of King Kong, but bigger does not mean better - in these sections the platforming tends to take care of itself, whereas the battles are a bit of an exercise in button mashing. How about some sections with Engelhorn navigating sea, Miss Darrow entertaining King Kong, Jimmy stealing pens and stuff, or King Kong skating with Ann Darrow? (Okay, scrap that idea.)

Advantages: Looks and sounds great, Play as either Jack or Kong Disadvantages: Not long enough
Peter Jackson's King Kong The Official Game of the Movie is as the title tells you a game which is based on the recently released King Kong movie. The story is that Carl Denham who is a struggling movie producer decides to go to a mysterious island to try and come up with some footage for one last effort to get a hit film for himself and save his career. He takes an actress called Ann, a film crew and a character called Jack, who you control in large ... ...take control of the huge King Kong character and the game changes to a simpler control system which involves tapping on various buttons to make Kong hit, jump or grab and throw. The Kong stages are quite good as you get to swing through the jungle, fight with dinosaurs and at the end rampage your way through New York. The scenes where Kong is fighting with one or two huge V-Rex dinosaurs are amazing.
The gameplay in King Kong is very good and while ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: an absolute 1 star game
King Kong is based on the latest King Kong film. And to be honest, this game is the worst game ever.
The story is simple, movie guy wants to shoot a movie on this island. Then on route, there ship sinks and they are trapped on the island. And then they are attacked and they loose the women traveling with them and they try to rescue her and get off the island.
The story and the orginality for the game are rubbish. The film is so well known that ... ...ruins the originality.
The gameplay is rubbish. It is so complicated that you get really frustrated with it. The graphics are the only good thing about the game but it still doesn't make a difference to the game.
The sounds for the game is crap. It really doesn't go with the game and it really does make the game unrealistic which it is.
The difficulty level is, well its none exsistant. The game is so hard to complete which really annoys you.
