Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes (Xbox)

Advantages: Addictive, to the point of seeing the fretboard in your sleep
Disadvantages: Your obsession could alienate your 'real' family

...Let's be clear here - I can't play the guitar to save myself. But, since getting Guitar Hero 3: Legends Of Rock on the xBox 360, I am a ROCK LEGEND! If you don't know what Guitar Hero is, then let me explain: you get a miniture plastic guitar-shaped controller and you 'play' along with a sound-track on the screen. There are prompts on a constantly rolling fretboard telling you which 'notes' to hit. You look really stupid, standing there with your mini plastic guitar, but that feeling only lasts for about three seconds - after that you will be totally immersed in this game - it ROCKS! As you hold down the necessary button on the neck of your guitar, you need to 'pluck' it at the right time with your plectrum in your other hand, similar to a real guitar. ...Just to make it clear, this review is for the guitar part of the game only, since I don't own the other parts, I am'nt going to make a rubbish review on it. Personally, I think guitar hero world tour is brilliant fun. The career lasts for quite a while which is good, and the setlist of songs is also good. The setlist is chosen well in my opinion and includes favourites such as; Livin' on a Prayer (Bon Jovi) , Sweet Home Alabama (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Hotel California (The Eagles). At first, the game is quite hard to get the hang of (as I found out), but soon you end up getting good quite quickly. I've ony had the game about 2 months and I am already on expert, (despite only playing it about 3/4 times a week). Advantages: Good track Listing and Boss Battles
Disadvantages: Longevity after completing the game quite short

...Another enjoyable game in the guitar hero series and another guitar available to buy. It has a good track listing and will keep you playing it for days if not hours. New features such as boss battles where you can duel against Slash and other famous guitarists, this adds a new dimension to the game play. The new wireless guitar is better built than the previous version but the buttons seem a bit harder to press. This can cause you to get guitar cramp quite quickly if you play the game for long periods. Downloadable content available from Xbox live and is backwards compatible with previous downloaded content from Guitar Hero 2. Highly enjoyable but would've liked cheaper and more varied downloads from Xbox live to enhance the longevity of the game.... Read review
