Advantages Advantages Thicker than economy varieties with better, holier texture

When scouring the shelves in Tescos for some snacks to keep in for the family I noticed Kingsmill Love to Toast crumpets recently. I am a real fan of crumpets but had never previously noticed these before so thought I would give them a try. With these being from the Kingsmill brand I was hoping they would be as good quality as their bread which I am a fan of, and that they were. I was really impressed with these. Some cheaper crumpets I have tried in the past have a dryness to them after toasting, but these were really moist and tasty and contained not one ounce of dryness. Size wise they are ... more

There is something just so quintessentially British about a good crumpet. I dont know whether its just our love of bread products or the word itself crumpet just sounds so English doesnt it! One bite of these crumpets smothered in butter and i was transported back to sunday afternoons as a child sat in front of the fire watching The Antiques Roadshow! And no i didnt live in an Enid Blyton story that really was what my childhood was like we actually did toast crumpets on an open fire!
