These cards are 4 GB SDHC flash memory cards, made by Kingston, SDHC being short for Secure Digital High Capacity, They are suitable for all digital devices like:- cameras, camcorders, PDAs, MP3 players etc. I have tried to get onto the website, but with no luck, I will try again later.
These cards are in solid state, and they are simply a storage system for information, that is all there is to it.
The price is very competitive, this is because they are now made with a capacity of 12 MB, so the little 4 MB ones are a little dated, however this makes them very reasonable in price. you can expect to pay up to £18, you can get them for less from various companies online, just remember some firms charge an arm and a leg for postage, packing, and insurance. You can buy them in the high street shops but at a higher price. These are described as "Postage stamp" size cards. They measure an inch by three quarters, or 19 x 24mm. You do have the option of going for non-branded merchandise, and although I would not advise anything but the original in my own camera, you could take the cheap option, especially if it is going into a cheaper product like an MP3 player.
The transfer rate on these cards is 4MBs per second. They come ready to use, and you don't need to format them. They carry the SDHC logo.
They come in a handy case, which is good enough to keep in the same place as your camera, one thing though, do something to make the case easy to see, because if you drop one of these, you will be lucky to find it.
You will probably keep two or three of these cards with you, instead of just one, that way, when the card is full, it is easy to change cards and start taking pictures again.
Changing the cards is simple, you don't even need to remove the batteries. You just push the old card down, release, and it springs up, remove, and insert the new one.
I have nothing against these cards, and in my opinion Kingston are one of the better makes. Most cameras do come with a small card to get you started, but you soon want to upgrade to a couple of bigger ones.
You can download your images directly to your PC, or you can take the card into your local Max Spielman's and get them printed while you wait. You also have the option of sending these cards through the post, even to someone without a PC, because they can go to their local Spielman's & decide which pics they want.
The company does have a web site, with some very nice pictures, and some very quite useful information. See it here :- www.kingston.com
Someone on here has done a review on Max Spielman's, have a look.
