Kipper has always been a favourite in our house, not just with my children, but also with me - and after all, it is usually the adults who have to read them over and over again !

Kipper is a very sweet dog, with long floppy dark brown ears, a brown and white body and a variety of expressions, all of which make you saw "ahhh !"

There are a set of basic books for youngsters learning their opposites, colours, numbers and weather. These all feature pictures of Kipper to illustrate these, alongside the word - for instance, Kipper in the RAIN, Kipper wearing a BLUE jumper or Kipper with TWO of his friends.

For those that enjoy a story, there is the original book by Mick Inkpen, simply entitled Kipper. The story is vert cute. Kipper gets annoyed with his basket and takes out his rabbit, blanket, ball and bone. But his basket isn't very confortable then, so he tries to find somewhere else to sleep. You can probably guess where he ends up :-)

Kipper's Snowy Day is a great story for this kind of Wintry weather and will inspire your children to make snowdogs in the garden !

Kipper's Birthday is - not surprisingly - about his birthday, when he organises a party, but all does not go according to plan. A happy ending is, of course, guaranteed.

The stories are very enjoyable, but the illustrations (also by Mick Inkpen) are the best part of the books.

Besides the books themselves, there is a fairly wide range of other Kipper merchandise available, including videos, cassette tapes of the stories and a cuddly Kipper for those nights when YOUR basket needs something to make it a bit more comfortable too :-)
