Advantages: Slim Line and plays almost every movie format Disadvantages: Very fragile and occasional crash
...have trouble playing, but the Kiss web site has firmware updates available free to download then just copy to disc put it in your machine and it does the rest.
I've had a very good experience with the compatibility of the player it has accepted all the brands of discs I use (Sony, Datawrite, Philips, Infinity, Tevion).
The playback sound and picture quality is beautiful, even on some of the most compressed movies.

This player is probably now cheap enough to use as a bedroom player or if you want to back up your discs and give the copy's to younger kids incase they destroy your main discs, this player would be ideal, but as a main player I would recommend looking at ... more
I used this DVD player for just over one year before it died on me, through the past year I've had a good experience with the player, there was a lot more ups than downs. Its the most compatible and easy to use player I've come across, even if you got multiple avi movies on one disc it brings up a menu so you can select which one to play. On the other hand it did crash on me occasionally, when it did it was a pain... sometimes you only needed to press stop but most of the time you needed to unplug it which I believe was the downfall of my own player as one time I unplugged it then plugged it back in their was no life at all, probably my fault I never unplugged it from the mains but who wants to go messing around behind the TV trying to figure out which is the right plug.
Appearance ````````````````` A very slim and stylish design, black with a metallic band around it, for the size just grab a sheet of A4 paper... the player is only a tiny bit bigger, and it stands only just over 5cm. The only two buttons on the player control Play/Pause and Stop/Eject they glow blue that could bother you slightly, they are bright when watching in the dark but its a warm glow. The Controller matches the player perfectly, keeping with the slim line appearance. Its very comfortable to hold and has a vast selection of functions with all the most commonly used in the center where they are easily accessed.
Installation/Setup `````````````````````` For such a small player it has a variety of connections to suit your needs, from the nice and simple Scart lead to S-video and Composite for more advanced TVs, also comes with Analogue stereo, Optical and coaxial ports for connecting up to your Amp. The player has a simple menu with simple questions, (Language, Connection type, TV size, Audio) click on the icons representing the answers and the player is ready in a few minutes.

The picture's I've added of this player are without the DVD drive, The players drive is that good at recognizing most DVD discs I used it to fix another broken player with great success.
Advantages: plays all types of formats inculding DivX/XviD ,looks good Disadvantages: firmeware
...2.9.0 version, available on the Kiss website. However, this only made matters worse, and now nothing worked for more than approximately 3 minutes - I was unable to watch any films nor could I listen to MP3/Ogg Vorbis music, and even accessing menus caused crashes to occur frequently!
Fortunately, I found a forum (www.mpeg-playcenter.com) where it recommended I downgrade the firmware, due to incompatibility with the Toshiba drive. You can determine ... ...firmware you use. Fortunately, however, KiSS regularly upgrade the firmware in response to users\' feedback, and there is a good community that provides excellent unofficial firmware releases in between the official versions. If you can\'t afford the more expensive models with LAN capability and in-built HDD, then I\'d recommend this player as a cheaper alternative. I would have given 4½ stars if possible, but instead will only give it 4 stars due ...

Advantages: Can play just about anything Disadvantages: Player sometimes crashes and only thing you can do is switch off
...probably isn't worth getting the Kiss DVD Player. If you just want to watch ordinary bought DVDs there are MANY cheaper players out there BUT there aren't many (if any) players that can do what this player can at such a cheap price.
I love the A4 style design and have recieved the odd compliment from guests! The remote on the other hand is big, blocky and ugly but on the other hand I've never lost it! Enjoy. ...

Advantages: Cost, multi region Disadvantages: Black - shows the dust!
We have had quite a few DVD players, some very expensive but this was the cheapest we had bought. This was bought a year ago from Special Reserve and cost us £70.
We got it so we could play region 1 DVDs but we have found that this plays so much more. It is multi region and will also play DVDs that we have downloaded and burnt to disc. It is also DivX compatible It is quite small (I think there are smaller ones out now) measuring 9" W x 11" L x ... ...it's black and shows the dust off so much more than silver!
The remote control is easy to use and has all the usual buttons on so you can fast forward from x 8 to x 48 speed or take it a chapter at a time together with the main menu button and remote opening & closing.
Although there are more expensive DVD players out there that are all singing and all dancing but to us this is the best DVD player at an affordable price and I would recommend this ...
