Advantages: Brilliant fun. A flashy expensive looking car at a fraction of the price of a mass produced one. Disadvantages: Needs a bit of effort and you may need some proffesional help.

Hello there!
For most of us the thought of building your own car sounds like a really, REALLY bad idea. Images of a rusted out, hammered together mess rolling out of a garage are appearing in your minds right now. However, if you did think this, you would be wrong. I too was dubious when first introduced to the idea but now I have seen the light.
A Kitcar is essentially a large Kit which you use to build a car. Just imagine a big mechano set and you'll get the picture. You can buy these from many different sources, companies are the main type (Harlequin, Sylva are just two examples). You could also try buying a Kitcar magazine, may I suggest Which Kit? After reading the instructions for the kit you must then buy the specified 'Doner' car. You see, these companies cannot supply all the parts, so you but a delapidated old banger at a cheap price. I mean it, buy the car cheap! Mileage, Road handeling, quality of body work are all irrelevant! Trust me! "You must unlearn what you have learned"-Master Yoda. Yu then proceed to tear the car to pieces, anything the instructions specify, and anything YOU think will be useful or asthetically pleasing you remove. Store all the parts nice and neatly (yeah right!!) and get a breakers yard to take away the husk which was a car out of your driveway.
You then set about cleaning all the parts to a good standard. Once this is done you start to refit the parts onto the chassis you received with the Kit. Now, depending on your skill, knowledge and effort you put in I would say you could have a very VERY cool car in about six months. Somthing that looks better than a Lotus, Ferrari and Porche(sp) put together can be yours in a fraction of the time at a fraction of the price.
So, if your bored, ressless, tired of seeing all the yuppies with their lovely cars, trying to work out how to scrape the money together to buy one, then give this a try. A great idea for middle aged blokes with a trade in their hands (metal working, mechanics etc) or a bunch of teenage lads who want a flash car built with their own 2, 4, 6 or 8 hands (depending how many of them there are). Even if you don't fit into these groups give it a go. You'll thank me afterwards.....I hope.
Advantages: great mag Disadvantages: very pro-kit-cars
If you have even a passing interest in kitcars, you should read this mag. It will open your eyes to the small niche market that produces the best sports cars in the world. Articles intelligently wrote but it is very pro- kit-cars so finds it very difficult to critisize companys or cars. With articles on building different cars they have private, built cars and prototypes and company show cars and the list goes on. This mag is not aver laden with company adverts but has got a lot of private cars for sale. There are vehicles to suit everyones needs or requirements. Printed onto glossy paper, they stay looking good and the photography is secound to none. Even if you only buy this mag once every six months, it will draw you back for more. ...

Advantages: Great at removing spray paint and covering scratch marks Disadvantages: Can't be used prior to re-spraying
I have had T-cut in my car care kit for five years now and would be in trouble without it. I first bought it to put the shine back onto my first car, then to repair some damage after another driver reversed into my car and most recently to remove spray paint from my car.
RESTORING THE PAINTWORK
T-Cut can really bring back the shine to your car, especially when you are trying to sell your car and need to distract the buyer from the large rust hole in the passenger side wing. Didn't work to distract the buyer, but he was impressed by the shine in the rest of the paint work.
COVERING SCRATCHES.
With my second car, I was crossing a junction and passed behind a stationary car. They didn't see me and reversed back into my rear door. The damage was largely superficial and only left a few scratch marks and some rubber from ...
Advantages: very good value, cheap insurance Disadvantages: engine is tuned compared to the size of the car
I am going to write about my beloved Corsa sxi 1.2i experience. well let me start from the beginning. I started driving with peugeot 106. i had 3 of them in a raw. i was in love with them as they seem to be quiet fast for tiny little engine.
But 1 day my mate turn up with his 1.2 sxi and challenge me to race him. I laughed at him because i had 1.4 quicksilver. so we decided to give it a go, believe it or not i couldn't pull away from the sxi, even it was only a 1.2i. so the following week i decided to go and find my self a sxi and trade the 106 in. Finally found a nice black sxi, 1.2i 16v 3 door. 2days later i decided to replace the original exhaust with a hks side exit cat back system and a apexi induction kit, relocated to the front by the bumper and lowerd with coilovers.
Believe it or not after the modification that car ...
