My history and why I wanted one of these*
When I was young and life was fun I had a friend who had a food mixer sitting on her worktop at all times, she used it several times a week and made the most wonderful cakes, breads and pastries with it. Oh I coveted that food mixer as I made the above by hand creaming, whisking, beating and kneading. The trouble was that it was out of my price range and on top of that I didn’t have enough worktop space ... ...years I have bought many kitchen gadgets that are supposed to make things easier and quicker and the more hours I have worked the more gadgets I have bought. Without the space to keep these things out what happens is I use them, clean them and put them in the cupboard, and there they stay…and stay…and stay!
So what changed?
A new kitchen!

Arguably the biggest name in small kitchen appliances, this mixer represents far better VFM than the Kenwood equivalent. I paid £150 from Amazon when on offer as not only has it a huge reputation as a solidly built, reliable and versatile kitchen machine but when it's going to be stood on your work surface everyday (indeed, it is too heavy to be pulling in and out of cupboards anyway) it needs to be aesthetically pleasing too. This is a thing of ... ...range ( I inherited an old Kenwood mixer some years ago and not only was it ugly but it was in orange too!). Okay, it isn't as powerful as the Artisan but it's also not as expensive and is more than adequate for everyday domestic use. Having been taught how to bake by manual methods and then progressing to a food processor to take the hard work out of creaming and whipping etc I didn't think that it could get much easier but I was wrong. To star with, I want to say I don't personally own this phone but my girlfriend does, and I usually hear nothing but complaints. So here goes.
