Kitchencraft Chocolate Fondue Set

I bought this chocolate fondue set for my girlfriend for Christmas, after going through all the options available on amazon I decided this was the best option. This fondue is heated by a candle, you can get others however that are heated by a gel cartridge. The gel cartridges are more expensive than candles and it seemed a bit too fiddly for me. Just light a candle and be done with it, no faffing. Another bonus, the price. It costs just £6.99 from amazon, a bargain. You probably won't use a fondue set regularly so there is no point in spending a fortune on it in my opinion.

It says on the amazon website that it comes gift boxed, but it doesn't. It comes in a blue and white box, just an ordinary appliance box. That isn't a problem but I don't know why it says it comes gift boxed when it clearly doesn't, maybe it has changed the packaging since I bought one but I doubt it.

Inside the box you get instructions, a ceramic pot and stand which seperate for ease of use, four forks and a tealight. The ceramic pot and stand are very sturdy and it looks like it will survive a good few uses, it is also dishwasher safe to make for easy cleaning. As it is white in colour it will suit any occasion; it's pleasing look means that you can leave it out if you wish or pack it away in the box.

The four forks that come with it to put your marshmallows, waffles, fruit etc. on have coloured ends so you will know which fork belongs to which person. Very useful. The two pronged end to the fork makes it very easy to stab your food and it will stay securely on while you dip it into the fondue.

If you are buying this for children, be aware that they will need supervising whilst using the fondue and you will have to melt the chocolate beforehand. The candle keeps the chocolate warm so it doesn't solidify but it won't melt the chocolate, unless you want to wait a very long time. So parents will have to melt the chocolate then pour it into the ceramic pot so the fondue fun can begin.

Chocolate fondues are amazing but very very sickly, I'd advise against melting too much chocolate down as you will feel obliged to eat it and then feel sick (as I have done), your eyes are always bigger than your belly! Fondues are great for kids and adults a like, get a wide variety of food to dip into the chocolate and everyone will love it.

I can't recommend this product enough, it is very good quality, easy to use and cheap. What more could you ask for?
