For those chefs who love cooking on gas Advantages: fast ignition, very powerful Disadvantages: quite chunky looking ...Rolls Royce/Bentley of appliances'. Gaggenau has been around for many centuries and its name comes from a small town in Germany. The range of appliances is vast including large capacity ovens built in ovens, steam ovens, coffee machine.....etc (the list is endless). I came across Gaggenau appliances almost three years ago now and since then I have met many committed customers of Gaggenau who have had the appliances fitted for more than 20years. ... ...It has an amazing fast ignition autmatic with one hand operation. The width of 91cm is perfect when cooking with large pots and pans as you can still use the surrounding burners. IT HAS SELF DESTRUCTED!! Advantages: Beautiful & stylish Disadvantages: Difficult to keep clean. Unusable after a week of use! This hob looks very stylish and trendy and expensive... its gorgeous! Wasn't too expensive either. It Ignites well and has lovely easy to use knobs. It almost looks like an induction plate, shiny black glass. Unfortunately the downsides are too important to ignore! We have found it hateful to keep clean, we have had to use hot soapy water immediately after use and then a soft cloth & glass cleaner otherwise it looks terrible! "Stoves S5-G700" gas hob - easy to use, go for the enamel version Advantages: Five well spaced burners, easy-to-use controls Disadvantages: Burner bodies mark easily This is a good solid easy-to-use hob. After nine months of use we haven't had any problems with its operation or use. It has a good selection of burners, including a "double-ring" wok burner. The control knobs are well placed and clearly marked. However, we went for the stainless steel version. To keep it looking good you have to clean and dry it after every cooking session. Definitely not a NAFF hob! Advantages: Sleek looks, good safety features, good quality Disadvantages: Unresponsive buttons When it comes to cooking I am usually a fan of gas hobs. I like to move pans around a lot when cooking to make sure that food doe not stick. With gas hobs there are nice strong metal supports for the pans to rest on and you can be quite violent with no risk of damaging the hob. I have always found electric hobs (particularly the ceramic variety) seam a bit fragile and I’m always reluctant to slide pans around on them incase they scratch, or to put ... ...am reviewing has been put in my parents kitchen, so although I do not own it, I have used it frequently since it was installed a few weeks ago. The hob itself was bought as an ex-display model for £360, this was a good saving on the normal price of between £400 and £500, however it still makes it quite pricy. Stoves 600CTH - PCB packed in after 3 years Advantages: Looks good and is easy to clean Disadvantages: Hasn't lasted, major delay on replacement PCB part We bought our Stoves Touch Control Frameless ceramic hob 3 years ago and the PCB has gone. Stoves said it would cost either £250 to fix or we could take an insurance policy that was £100 cheaper and it would cover the cost of the part being fixed and we'd also have a warranty for a year. We took the policy believing this to be a good deal. But part due to come in Jan and has stilll not arrived and it is March.
