Ikea Kitchens, easy for the DIY people

Advantages: good quality, easy to understand how to put it together, easy to install, excellent organization
Disadvantages: came in 96 boxes, can be labour intensive

We bought a full ikea kitchen about 1.5 years ago. Now the first thing that I can say is they are so affordable. When looking to redo our entire kitchen, we spent only about 2500$. Most people spend a lot more than this. Ikea delivered the kitchen in 96 boxes! Yup, their kitchens come the same way as all of their other products. This aspect was a little bit of a pain, because it is labour intensive, but it works if you have time and not money. I ...
...was challenging at first, but once you have done two or three and you know how they work, they are very easy to snap together quickly, but make sure you have space! You need space for the boxes and space to build the cupboards, and more space to put all of the cupboards you have already built so they are not in your way. When it came time to put the kitchen together, the instructional DVD that came with everything was very easy to understand, it ...

kitchens direct -avoid!!

Advantages: didn't get that far!
Disadvantages: rude customer services

I have just read the reviews on this company and feel I have had a lucky escape. I had a salesman at my door at a time I was looking for a kitchen. He took my details and someone called me back to confirm a time for an appointment. They were vague about the time saying they could get held up in traffic. The crunch was when she asked me 4 times if I had a partner/husband. I explained I was the sole owner and would be the only person choosing the ...
...had a partner. At this point I stated she was in danger of me cancelling the appointment-she then hung up! I am very suspicious of this company and wonder why they are so persistent in trying to find out if their customer is single! It is almost like they don't think single women can afford a kitchen! ...

Magnet Galashiels

Advantages: Quality kitchen and top service
Disadvantages: None

...incidentally was also supplied by Magnet 15 years earlier. Sadly it was still in great condition. Only changed because wife said it was "out of date". Staff very friendly with no pressure to buy. Chose Linton. expensive but very nice. Amazed at prices Magnet could supply appliances. Much cheaper than I could manage on internet. The "full circle" process worked well with everything happening at times agreed at the outset. Only one week from fit of ...

appalling service and inadequate salesman

Advantages: looks okay but no better than any other
Disadvantages: too expensive, badly installed, wrong items installed

avoid homebase kitchens in belfast gallwally. my experience was that: the salesman was incompetent - he took no notice of my specific requests, despite me showing him and telling him exactly what my requirements were. apparently he put the wrong codes in his computer and now that the kitchen is fitted there is nothing i can do about it. the fitters were sloppy - items were installed poorly and quickly and not to the "showroom standard" that i ...
