Looking through other reviews of this company it seems my experience of this company are unusual however they have done me proud.
I saw Kitchens Direct advertised in the national press so decided to give them the oportunity to come round and give me a quote for a new kitchen that was overdue to be replaced in my house.I also contacted a couple of other local companies as I prefer to deal with a local company .
I contacted kitchens direct on the 11 th june and on the 13th a representative from kitchens direct came round to measure up.After about 20 minutes of me telling the guy of my requirements he commenced to draw up a plan of my new proposed kitchen. This process took about an hour, including bringing in samples of worktops and units and handles.
The items chosen he then spent another10 minutes pricing it all up.He gave the usual "if you sign up today" speech but you have to ignore all this and I told him I need a few days to think it over.In reality I hadnt got the others prices from the other companies.
He left me with his mobile number and told me to ring if I decided to use his company. Some 3 days later armed with the other quotes which were £400 and £700 more I rang him and said I was ready to sign on the dotted line .He arrived the next day to get my £100 deposit and arrange for the surveyor to come round and take the "exact" measurements ans to do a site survey to highlight and problems which may occur when the kitchen fitter arrived. The surveyor took about 2 hours taking measurements and with his laptop and printer gave me a drawing of what my kitchen would look like.
With contract now signed I was told to expect a call from kitchens direct telling me of a delivery date and a fitting date.Only 2 days later they phoned saying the kitchen would be delivered in 2 weeks time and they needed payment of the balance on this date.A few alarm bells were ringing at this stage thinking that once they had all the money the fitters wouldnt arrive.I needent have worried.
On the agreed date a large van arrived with numerous boxes of kitchen units, plinths etc all in all some 30 boxes .
The date for fitting was arranged a week later ,On the day I got a call from kitchens direct saying the fitter was taking longer than expected on a previous job so wouldnt be able to do my kitchen on the agreed date but they fixed a new date some 2 days later.
It was at this stage that I read all the other reviews of the company and got a little worried. However on the eve new date the fitter rang to confirm my address and tell me of his time of arrival.true to his word he arrived and then has spent the last 3 days fitting my new kitchen.he worked hard and dilligently from 8AM through to 6.30 all he asked for was a regular supply of tea god that guy must have had a big bladder he drank gallons of the stuff.
There were a few items missing when he unpacked the boxes thigs like a few handles and a couple of doors but these were delivered the very next day so he wasnt delayed by this.
The company were very good at service phoning to advise of any delays as we all know fiting a kitchen can never be an exact science.
He finished cleaned up and removed all rubbish from the site and did a great job.
My experience of the company has been very good and have just had a call from the company asking how everything was going and if I was happy.
They offer a 5 year guarantee on all the materials used
If you want to give them a go they can be contacted on 0800 526973 24 hours a day Also they have a good website located at www.kitchensdirect.co.uk. On this site you can view all the styles of kitchens they offer and even arrange for a quote.
They are currently running a free fitting offer however you have to look through all this advertising hype .All I tend to look at is the total fitted price and quality and on both counts they score very highly in my book
