Having 2 little girls with a massive love for music and dance, the iPod is an essential item in our house. My youngest daughter has kind of stolen mine as I don't use it that much, and my eldest daughter has a little nano, so we were on the look out for headphones that would be suitable for young children. We found the Kit Sound Muffs but was still a little dubious so only bought one pair, we have since bought another pair however and they are a massive hit in our house!

The Kit Sound Muffs are quilted knit earmuffs with built in headphones. The microphones are set within a soft pocket in the ear and I was at first dubious that they may dig into the ear but the material around them is thick and soft and doesn't give any discomfort whatsoever. They are designed to sit around the back of the head rather than on top of it and stretch and pull to fit any size head. My girls can have them on top of their head as you would a normal set of earphones but they also fit around the back of their head too so they are quite versatile. The one thing I will say is that they don't ever seem to stretch enough for my head!!! It is a bit of a joke in my house that I have a massive head (lliterally! Not because I'm vain!), but I wouldn't say it is abnormally large and therefore should really fit me, but they don't - not comfortably anyway!!

The sound that comes out of the earphones is impressive and has a very good sound quality. There is also a little volume control on the cable so it can be easily adjusted. This isn't necessarily a good point for me as I do have to tell my girls off at times for listening to music too loud, but maybe I'm just getting old and it's part and parcel of being a parent! There is also a button so that you can take calls and change tracks but my girls obviously have no need for this function! To take a call, press the control once and press once to end a call. When listening to your music, press twice to skip forward a track or 3 times to skip back a track.

The muffs will connect to the iPhone, iPad, iPod, HTC and Blackberry.

We have managed to pick these up for £7.50 in Tesco which is a bargain when considering the £20 RRP and the cost of other decent headphones on the market.

Comes in black, pink or cream.
