This is yet another children’s history book in a chatty, unscholarly, entertaining style with the emphasis on humour and “flabbergasting facts” to enthuse even the most reluctant young historian. The book covers a variety of topics, including Roman leaders, families, celebrations, gods and goddesses, inventions and entertainment. However, in each chapter there is one deliberate mistake and the reader is challenged to try to spot it.
