The Camera is very easy to use, it comes with all cables, some software and a Compact Flash card and a set of battries to get you started. It has a nice user friendly interface to change resolution, settings and view your pictures. It's Easy set up so you could lend this camera to friends and family because it works just like a regular 35mm point and shoot camera, it even looks like one!. Infact once setup to the optimum settings for your preference you could take this out with you instead of your regular camera.
It includes a flash, a 2x Zoom Lens, & an LCD screen & regular Viewfinder so it will suit either preference.
Another nifty feature is that the camera allows you to display images on your memory cards directly on your TV screen, the composite video cable to do this is even included with the camera. This makes it really good for doing presentations or just showing all your photos off to the entire family.
The camera is probably one of the best out there for beginners as its resolution isn't the highest out there making it a fairly cheap camera pricewise but isn't so low that its practically unusable, infact the Image quality is quite high for its price bracket and is able to pick up a high level of detail and color saturation on most photographs which I have taken using the camera.
It comes with Kodak's own Picture Easy software which is really good for managing and using your pictures, combining camera interface, simple image correction, and picture postcard email all in a single application. PhotoDeluxe from Adobe is also included, providing greater image-editing capabilities for the more hardcore digital camera enthusiast, Even Adobe PageMill is inculded in the software line-up allowing you to create web pages using images from the DC210. A TWAIN driver is also included so you cn make use of the camera with other applications.
There are a few niggles with the camera:
The download time is very slow when using the supplied cables meaning you have to wait a long time to get the pictures out of your camera and on to your PC so you may prefer to purchase a USB CompactFlash reader for your PC to speed up this process.
The camera takes 4 x AA batteries and it really eats these, especially if you are deleting images from your memory card via the camera controls or cables or if you use the the LCD to review your pictures. This is another good reason to purchase a CompactFlash reader for your machine. The best battries to use with this camera are NiMH rechargable ones.
Overall this is a brilliant camera for the beginner or intermediate digital camera or photography enthusiast however some people may prefer a camera with a resolution above the 1 Megapixel this one provides.
The Camera can be difficult to find in the shops because of its slghtly dated design, however expect to pay between £80 - £150. The best place to look is ebay where you will often find them for as little as £70.
Advantages: Good quality, compact, every cable needed supplied, easy to use Disadvantages: Professional photographers may require a higher image resolution
Having been using my Kodak DC210+ for two and a half years now, it still has many, many more years left in it, which I will definitely get out of it.
The maximum resolution (1152 × 864) is more than adequate for use as a home or small business camera, and the two file types supported (JPG and Flashpix) and the different compressions of those mean that many combinations of image quality can be experimented with for your needs.
All the features are ... ...and use. The LCD screen is of excellent quality, and can also be used like a video camera for composing pictures. There is an optical 2x wideangle zoom lens and a close-up mode which functions very well. The focus of a picture is naturally in the centre, but this can be changed by half-pressing the take picture button whilst the subject is lined up in middle, and then moving the camera to the desired location before finally pressing the button all ...

...for people to view. But Kodak have a website where you can submit pictures and they will professionally print them for around 20p per picture. (I have not try this service so I do not know how good it is.) The DC210 is basically the same as the DC215 but the DC215 has updated firmware that is available via the web. The memory cards range from 4MB (20 pounds) to 32MB (70 pounds). Overall this is a good all-purpose camera for an amateur photographer ...

Advantages: Good pics, and easy-ti-use Disadvantages: Not the smallest out there
I've been using this camera for just over 18 months now, and am very pleased with my purchase, although I do look enviously at some of the smaller cameras that are appearing now.
That having been said, size apart, (and it's not actually that big), it's a great camera. Picture quality is better than many of the smaller cameras, and in just about all lighting situations, it takes great shots.
The camera comes with an OK case, and an 8MB Compact Flash. ... ...modes, and you can mix-and-match on the same CF. I tend to run in "Better", "High" which lets me fit around 40 snaps onto my CF card. At the lowest quality, 120 pictures are possible. I have a 32 Meg card, which I use in my Psion Series 5mx, which gives me several hundred snaps, should I need them.
With a 2x optical zoom, and the ability to zoom in to get a closer look on screen, getting a good shot is easy, and managing images on the camera is ...

Advantages: Great quality pictures Disadvantages: Very slow to download
I bought a Kodak DC210 plus ,as I wanted a digital camera and trusted Kodak would be a safe bet.I looked at a few other around the same price range but liked the way the Kodak looked, and I knew Kodak was a good name.
It takes great pictures, what you'd expect from a digital camera and it came with a 8mg card which stores 56 standard qauality and 12 full quality pictures.I went out and bought a 32mg card which stores 256 standard and 112 high quality ... ...your'e going on holiday and are worried about having no space left on the card, this helps.
Downloading was very slow especially if youv'e got lots of photos to put on your PC.So I bought a USB card reader which downloads them in seconds.(this was £50)
So although a great camera,I needed to buy extras which bumped up the price, reasonable price for the camera. ...

...relatively easy to use. The Kodak fulfills all these criterea and so far it has been good fun to use. The results are excellent, you can view the image on the viewing screen at the back of the camera, although it is difficult to see in bright sunlight. If you don't like the picture simply delete and take another one. Different picture frame styles can be used to enhance your image, although I haven't found need to use these very often. Advantages: Small, lots of features inc. 3xzoom and rechargeable battery Disadvantages: Odd startup sequence, and redeye handling could be better
The Konica KD-400Z is my fourth attempt at finding the pefect digital camera in the last five years. After buying one of the first low-res cameras and upgrading over the years, I finally decided to hold off until something came on the market that had the following spec:
- 3 Megapixels
- 3 x optical zoom
- Video (with audio)
- Pocketable (at least compared with my old KodakDC210)
- Pricetag of less than £350
When I decided to re-look at the market a few months back, I found that the Kyocera S3 and this Konica fitted the spec, and opted for the Konica, mainly as it added the following in addition to my own requirements:
- Recharchable battery
- 4 not 3 megapixel
-Slots for SD/MMC card and memory stick
The Konica measures 98mm x 55mm x 31mm, and with it's all-metal finish and sturdy lens protector (that doubles as ...
Advantages: Sparking little performer; super features Disadvantages: Confusing array of models
In my not-so-recent youth (!!) I was an avid believer in SLR cameras (I could often be found with two camera bodies slung around my neck ? one with a short range zoom, the other a mid range telephoto). When life?s burdens took their toll on hobby activities, I (admittedly) downgraded to something simpler and easy to carry.
I was impressed with my first digital camera ? a KODAKDC210 ? which I bought over five years ago. It died a couple of summers back. Despite advice from the Kodak help line it proved impossible for me to resurrect it and the cost of sending it to the regional repair centre (would you believe that from the UK it would have to be sent to Belgium?) came close to the cost of buying a new one. I chose an updated version that offered higher resolution and many new features and bought from a dealer in Florida. These are my ...

good value, good mode selection, good quality, well built, canon quality, good battery life, good resolution and quality, good manual controls, good LCD
clumpy, clunky design and controls, too big to be a true compact, interface pauses, zoom irritating, not worth the upgrade from G3 (*)
