Advantages Advantages Durable, long lasting, small, high quality pictures

Disadvantages Disadvantages No case supplied, high battery usage

I was fortunate enough to have received a Kodak DC215 with my PC in September 1999. When I say fortunate I am of course being a little modest! I can not imagine how my life would be now without my camera! It all started in the summer of 1999. I had a laptop (a little slow and clumsy, but it worked). I was very happy with it until the age of digital cameras dawned upon us like a tidal wave over a city! I had thought about buying one, and at the time the 215 was £450, a little steep compared to today's lower price, but it seemed worth it, after all this was pretty top end for the time. Anyway ... more

I never thought of writing something on this camera but I should have done it a long time ago. It really deserves we stop a moment to consider its beneficial support and part in the world of technology…maybe not with my words mind you. I am not very good at using technical terms when it comes to cameras (or any other specific products) so I kept this review simple and hopefully useful and informative. How did we end up buying the DC215? Well it was actually part of the computer package we ordered over 2 years ago. Lucky us? Yes quite a bit for the camera but the PC is another story. In fact we ... more

Advantages Advantages easy to use, good picture quality, limited only to size of flash card you can afford

Disadvantages Disadvantages batteries dont last long, not as many features as top of the range

The kodak dc215 is an excellent digital camera, for anyone on a budget. At a mere £200 (ish) it is not the cheapest, but value for money it is an excellent buy. What I like is the way it looks and feels like a normal 35mm camera, it is slightly heavier but that is not a problem. It doesn't boast the features of some of the more expensive models, but for the average person this is ideal. It was recommended to me by a photographer friend, so it must be good ! When I purchased mine it had a 5mg card in, but the shop gave me a 10mg card free (i whinged about the price, try haggling it works trust ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none major

I had an Olympus C840 but when I had it nicked I needed a replacement digi camera quickly. So I bought a DC215 as a replacement. It is reasonably good quality in photo resolution, not the best - but considering the price .... very good. I use mine mainly when I am at work looking at machine problems and emailing piccy's back to my drawing office as an example. The resolution is more than adequate, "a picture speaks more than a thousand words." The features are many, and the user interface on the color LCD screen is very good, simple, and easy to navigate with the keys on the back of the camera ... more

Advantages Advantages v/g PC intereaction, good design

Disadvantages Disadvantages batteries eaten too fast. need to get rechargable ones!!

So, the DC215 doesn't come with a hefty price tag, but that in no way reflects it's capabilities, customers are bound to be happy with this amazing bargain that KODAK boasts to the digital camera market. It's interesting to compare the DC215 up against other, more expensive, and apparently more 'advanced' cameras. Sure, picture quality isn't great, but people who just want to take the odd digital holiday snap aren't going to need anything more. Kodak provides you with everything from the 4 AA Batteries to a TV out connector lead. TWAIN support is something KODAK have focused on in the DC215 ... more
