Use your PDA as a digital camera with the Kodak PalmPix - then HotSync the pictures to your PC.
Cost around £100 new, now are about £10 on ebay - which is just about what they are worth.
There are two 'flavours' available, one for the 'square based' Palm III, IIIc, IIIe, IIIx, IIIxe, VII, IBM Workpad and TRGPro series machines, the other for the 'round based' M100 M500 etc
The camera offers two screen resolutions; 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 pixels, bearing in mind this uses the same memory in your PDA, you probably don't want huge files anyway.
Download the supplied application onto your PDA, pop a couple of AAA batteries into the camera and you are ready to take pictures in seconds.
I work in IT and have to to send engineers to customers' sites.
The PalmPix ideal for snapping pictures of their billings, mugshots of the contacts, and in particular - exactly which rack in the computer room you want the engineer to look in!
The alternative is to suggest 'It's a brick and glass building over the road from another brick and glass building, your contact is a balding middle aged man and the equipment is in a cabinet towards the back of the room'
In the same way that your PDA isn't really a substitute for a proper notebook computer the PalmPix isn't a substitute for a proper digital camera, it is, however, very small and easy to use, if a bit limited in function.
My only grumble is that you can't link the photographs directly to an email on the PDA - instead you have to do a HotSync to your PC and then create the attachment there.
Still, it's a *lot* cheaper than one of those 3rd generation GSM phones!
As Kodak don't sell these any more I'll be naughty and link to the support page on their website.
