Advantages change of frame
Disadvantages the speakers make the frame quite bulky
When I got married I had a mountain of presents to sort through and one of them was this lovely digital photo frame. My best friends had clubbed together to buy the frame and had uploaded all the pictures from my hen do and night out before the big day. It was a lovely gift and was the first digital photograph frame that I ever owned so it was a bit of a novelty.
The frame cost £95 pounds so it was a very lavish present for my friends to buy.
The frame has a 10 inch screen that is very clear and bright. It shows off pictures and makes them colourful and vibrant. The frame itself is quite thick as it has built in speakers that are hidden at the back. The speakers mean that the frame will play a small video file or MP3 files. You can set the frame to show a slideshow of pictures and set them to music. Your images are displayed very professionally in this frame and are surrounded by a white mount and then a frame of your choice. It comes with a red wood classic frame or a more modern looking silver frame. I have opted for the modern silver frame. At the back of the frame there is an AC adapter hole for the AC adapter lead that powers the frame. This lead is quite long so you are not limited to where you have the frame around the house. There is also a USB and a SD card slot. At the back is a stand so you can have the frame stood up on a shelf or unit. If you want to, you can mount the frame on a wall, however the wire would be trailing down and it would not look very appealing.
The frame has an internal memory of 128MB but you can boost this by using the USB port or the SD card. You can use the frame to manually flick through your photographs or stay on one picture to display it. I like to set slideshows with the frame and find this the best way of viewing pictures. It is nice to turn the frame on in the front room when we are relaxing and see lovely pictures of our family show up on the screen. Setting the slideshows was slightly complicated at first but I have now got the hang of it. There is a touch screen menu bar that runs across the frame (this is hideen once your pictures show up) and you can set the slideshow on here. You can choose the length of time the picture is on the screen and how the pictures fade into the next. You can have them dissolving into a new picture or sliding down for example. The frame will also flip portrait pictures and landscape ones to fit the frame. You can add music to your slideshow which is also done through the memory options. If you have a short video clip you can watch it with audio and using the menu you can turn up the volume or even mute it.
The screen has a resolution of 800x480 so the images look very good especially on such a big screen. I have some lovely pictures of my grandchildren on holiday on the frame at the minute and the ones where they are in the pool and playing in the water are wonderful. The blue of the pool is so crisp and inviting that everytime I see the pictures I want to go on holiday!
