Like some other reviewers, I bought this camera at Tesco for under £45 around 4 months ago. This camera is simply perfect for those with under £100 to spend. For inexperienced users there is no better camera to use to get to grips with the subtleties of quality image capturing. It far outperformed my peers' slightly more expensive cameras and even at £60-75 is a sure fire winner.
The true beauty of this camera lies in the fact that amateurs can easily operate its intermediate functions. It is sublimely intuituve and amateurs can also, with a bit of luck, capture near professional shots if used outdoors. Even action shots are made easy with a quality and staggeringly simple anti-shake feature.
One downfall is that indoor photographs do leave a little to be desired, even considering the price, although, this is an unfortunate trait of every camera I have seen at less than £100. Another is that it performs poorly in close-up or 'macro' (less than one metre) shots. But these are mere footnotes.
The digital zoom, as with most digital cameras is barely even worth having but the optical zoom is the great plus of this camera and perfect for wide shots around 10 to 30 feet away.
Build wise the camera is relatively sturdy but is quite bulky which hinders portability just a tad. It is also not particularly good looking and no one will think you are a pro but of the dozen or so I have operated first hand, this is the best camera to be found south of £100!
