...enlarged size. The Kodak boasts a fair few features that set it apart from its rivals. The control buttons are well places, we've got a large 2.2 inch LCD panel, the menu system is clear and easy to use and the jog dial (shall explain later) that allows me to change exposure settings while concentrating on the picture. Another function that makes the DX6490 stand out, the LCD panel is usable in low light! If you've ever used a digital camera before, ... ...us do. The Kodak Easyshare software allows you to perform common, basic functions of image editing. For example, removing red eyes, adjusting brightness/contrast, rotate, or even giving the photo +/- exposure compensation. There's also a few fun features, such as applying an effect that will make your picture look like a cartoon. It allows you to view a slide show of your images, burn them to CD, email, and order prints online (via Kodak, obviously!). ...

Advantages: More Professional than the basic Kodak. Disadvantages: Heavier though few disadvantages.
...had one of the basic Kodak Digital Cameras, and I was very impressed with the quality of the pictures, the ease of use, and the overall thought that went into the design. Little by little, I have been educating my husband on all things technical and about a year ago, he pinched my camera, and seems always to have it with him because it is so versatile.
This is okay when we are at the same place at the same time, although I looked into getting another ... ...feature because the standard basic Kodak that I used to use only had two settings, and here the choice is varied between email quality pictures, medium quality, normal sized print quality and enlargement quality, so the results are flexible dependent upon your needs.
For example, email pictures are clear to the eye, although not very good for printing. The setting that I use the most is the second setting which is ideal for good quality prints because ...

Advantages: Fantastic Optical Zoom, Lens Cover, Price Disadvantages: Instruction manual on CD only.
I have owned this camera for only one week, but I do not think I could have bought a better camera for the money. The zoom - 10x optical zoom - is quite amazing. The digital zoom on top of that - 3x - is ok, but as with all digital zooms, you can get the same effect from your computer once you have taken the picture.
As the instruction manual is only on CD, I am struggling to learn all the features. I find it easier to have a book with me to look ... ...learn it all before hand. There is a large 2.2 inch LCD panel on the back of the camera, which displays the pictures you have taken, or are about to take, which is brilliant, especially when taking video with it - which includes audio. And it also displays the settings, battery power etc.
With other digital cameras I have had, it has been impossible to get the settings to exactly how I wanted. A lot of them are not flexible enough. This camera on ...

Advantages: 10x zoom, fast start up, 'one touch' Disadvantages: can take a few seconds to focus when using full zoom
...than meeting my requirements, and Kodak not being afraid to stray from the standard silver format that most other manufacturers seem to favour.
Although they may not currently be as fashionable as manufacturers such as Olympus & Fuji, Kodak is a name that has long been synonymous with photography and certainly a great deal of thought has gone into enabling this camera to go the 'extra mile'.
The first thing to note about this camera is the 'One ... ...example of the thought that Kodak has put into this camera is the viewfinder. This does not give you a view through the front of the camera, but contains a smaller version of the LCD screen, showing exactly the same picture that you would see on the larger screen on the back of the camera. Next to the viewfinder there is a sensor that detects when you are looking through the viewfinder. When the camera has been inactive for 1/2 minute or so, it will ...

personal opinion;
I was very excited when I read about this camera in what digital camera and amateur ... ...camera. Sadly as I noticed Kodak didn’t build the camera with a flash hot shoe so if you were taking pictures in a hall the flash would be ineffective.

An sxcellent and very compact bit of kit, the only drawback I have encountered is the design of the outer casing which lacks an easy and natural grip possition making the camera less comfortable in the hand than others I have used.
