Kodak Faceplate / Glass 10" 1797893 is a digital photo frame which is a cost-effective alternative to many other digital photo frames. Kodak is an American based company, which started off producing imaging and photographic materials and equipment. In the fourth quarter of 2000 Kodak launched their very first digital photo frame, the initial price of the first digital photo frame was $349 (£176).

This particular digital photo frame has a screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, which is next to nothing compared to the pixels you get from the more expensive photo frames. There are also integrated loud speakers, which give you the option of audio playback. But with the small amount of provided internal memory there is really no point in storing a great deal of music in the digital photo frame. However, if you buy a memory card then it is possible to store a great deal of music, depending on the size of the card you buy.

The addition of a memory card slot means that you can expand your memory up to a maximum of 16GB in the very popular SD format. The 16GB model will cost you up to £45. However if you opt to choose a lower capacity like 4GB. It will cost you up to £12.

www.memorybits.co.uk provide great deals on SD and many other types of memory cards. But all digital photo frames including this one accept other types of cards. This particular photo frame will require an SD card adapter for memory cards not compatible with it. Most memory cards when purchased include an adapter, if not you can purchase them separately from online shops or from 'real' electronics shops.

With the digital photo frame you get a USB cable which will allow you to connect your photo frame to a laptop or PC in order to transfer JPEG images onto the internal 128 MB of memory on the photo frame. You also get a remote control with the digital photo frame, giving you the benefit of scrolling through your images without getting out of your seat.

You can store a lot of pictures on the 128 MB internal memory, but it depends on the quality and size of the image. For example, if you want to store 5 megapixel quality images, you will only be able to store a maximum of 50-64 images as the image sizes vary from 2MB-2.5MB.
However, if you choose to store images of lower quality and size (e.g. 2 megapixel quality images) than you will easily be able to store over 300 images.

You can customize your digital photo frame with the range of Digital Frame Faceplates. There are three different types of frame which can be purchased. These include a White Board, a Frosted Floral Glass and a clear glass face plate. With the white board faceplate you can personalize your digital photo frame with hand-drawn pictures or messages. With the frosted glass faceplate you can add a sense of elegance to your photo frame and finally you can opt to leave it simple with the clear glass faceplate.

You can purchase the Kodak Faceplate / Glass 10" 1797893 for £11-£20. Which is a great deal given that the photo frame is digital and that more than 1 image can be stored, plus with the addition of a remote control and integrated loud speakers the deal is made even more sweeter. Although the sound output of the loudspeakers is not very good.

Overall, the Kodak Faceplate / Glass 10" 1797893 is a great affordable digital photo frame, with included features which are worth the money. It may not provide the best looking display but it is great value for money and it can save valuable space by reducing the need to buy numerous photo frames to hold numerous photos.

I was laughed at the idea of digital photoframes. I figured they'd distract me too much. As time is comnig on, indeed they are beomcing more affordable
