...The Buffalo Ministation Turbo USB 120GB is quite a small little storage device, hence the “ministation” in its name. Its size is great as its only 127 x 20 x 84 mm so it’ll hardly make a dent in your pocket. The 190 g weight on its also hardly anything and they have even managed to shed 20 g’s off this one compared to the previous 40 gb edition of this hard drive. It works directly off power from a laptop or computer and runs therefore directly off usb without the need for plugging in another power cable to run the device. This can be a problem if you need more battery life on your laptop as it will drain it a little if its plugged in all the time. ...Very slim device, with sleek black plastic case and rounded edges. Has rubber feet to prevent slipping when placed on desk. Compatible with all Operating Systems (including Linux) due to FAT formatting. As with all drives, can be repartitioned or reformatted as preferred. Has Windows XP software on board to simplify backups. Very short USB cable (about 10cm), so an extension may be necessary. No power supply (gets power from USB port), so truly portable. Fast USB2 connection. Reliable WD Hard Drive - I've had it for over a year with no problems. This is now a low storage capacity Hard Drive at 60GB, but I would thoroughly recommend it (or a larger capacity Passport) for anyone who needs genuine portability with their hard drive.... ...I seem to go through hard drives like a hot knife through butter, so it was no wonder that a warning appeared about low space left on my computer. Therefore i decided to review different hard drives offered by various companies before deciding which to purchase. Now i did not buy this Iomega, but only because i found a cheaper western digital passport with twice the gb offered. I found this to be a great performer as i was allowed to test it. Design The portable hard drive comes in an attractive silver and white case that has USB2 and FireWire 400 ports. It is a fully functional travel companion and easily fits into a rucksack or laptop bag. This is feasable because it weighs relatively little and is easy to handle.
