    Advantages Advantages Solves the missing negatives mystery

    Despite being a keen photographer, I’m terrible with negatives. I’ve tried giving up time to file them properly, all in their own little slot in a purpose-built ring binder, but all to know avail. Any New Year’s resolution to be tidier soon disappears under a pile of paper eventually destined for the recycling bin! Despite having written in glowing terms about a digital camera that I’m currently stuffing my piggy bank for, I still feel that it’ll be a long time before I really do hang up my 35mm spurs.     If you do not own a digital camera but want to receive the benefits of digital photography, then I strongly recommend that you try Kodak picture cd. Take your film in to your regular Kodak developer to be processed; add "Kodak picture cd" to the regular developing instructions. When you receive your developed prints, you will also receive a cd that contains all of your pictures. Simply put the cd into the cd-drive of the computer; instructions will pop-up onto the screen and lead you through your options.     Advantages Advantages Access to pictures on CD

    The software included with the Picture CD is very poor indeed, and takes a long time to load up, even when fully installed, on the computer. The idea behind the CD is good, and you do get all of your photos on CD. However, if you have access to a scanner and a CD writer you supass Kodak's efforts without even thinking about it. I very rarely access the software on my CD, and simply open the CD in explorer to get at the actual photo files. The CD was a big disappointment, and I would certainly not waste my money on it again. ... more
