Advantages: A number of pieces of kit. Good music playback. Not too pricey. Disadvantages: Lower quality resolution because of it's design.

Combining a few different products is not a new idea, however combining such new gadgetry into one product is. You see, the Kodak MC3 is not only an mp3 player, but is also a digital camera, and a digital VIDEO camera. All of this for about £130 is surely great right? Well, yes and no.
Firstly, I got a hold of one of these for a little while, to try out and play with, and I'm good with gadgets, so you can trust what I'm gonna say here. The looks of the thing is pretty snazzy. It is a wonderful hue of blue, with a contrasting black. This is similar in design to the colour of the Diamond mp3 players.
STUFF IT COMES WITH: The camera comes with a USB base, which cradles the camera nicely, in order to transfer the data between the two. It is stable, and quick to transfer. It also comes (obviously) with the neccessary cabling, and the software, as well as with some imaging software.
THE CAMERA: The camera itself has only two resolutions available, 320x240 and 640x480. Now, with the supplied 16 megs of ram, that is a lot of images, on either resolution. However, 640x480 is not (as I'm sure a lot of you are aware) a very high resolution. On the upside, it is very very very easy to take a pic. It is quite simply point and shoot. It must come with auto focus or something, as in the main the pictures I snapped were good quality, even though the camera lacked a flash. That's right, lacked a flash! You'll have to buy a separate if you want night images.
THE VIDEO BIT: The video runs at 320x240 resolution. Again, this is not very high, however it is about as high as a lot of iternet vidcams, and okayish. It is one of the few digital video cameras to also record sound, which is so much more fun than recording the silent videos, which a few other digital cameras can create. The sound is also fairly good quality, and better than some analogue models, because it is digital.
THE MP3 BIT: The mp3 player on board can only store about 6 songs, however, it has a good equalization, as well as shuffle modes etc. Not only that, but it looks rather snazzy too!
OVERALL: Firstly, the resolution is negligible, but then at this price you can't complain, and even 640x480 is hardly terrible, as it can print large photos at an alright standard. The product comes with 16 megs of ram, which isn't much, but this can be upgraded with flash memory/smart media. It can be upgraded up to about 128 megs and even possibly further, which is about 40 songs, much better! And with some software, this can be upgraded even further. However, what we are forgetting is that this is more of a gadget, and so is FUN!!! Yes, that's right, a fun product to use. All of the features are real easy to access, and the point and click for both camera and video, even if they lack modern and hip features, are great fun! Try one! You may like it a lot. It's pretty cool, though if you want something a bit more like a serious product, then look further. If you want a fun thing to play around with, and start you off on digital and video hobbies, then go with it!
Advantages: Does everything with a screen Disadvantages: bad battery life, poor value for money
The Kodak MC3 is an ugly thing. Its squat, it has a big beady eye looking out on the world, and it tries to do everything.
Sadly, its not really very good. The photos are very poor, with odd noise and interference on them, some even have big lines down the middle. The videos are OK, but unless you want to make 10 minutes (on a 128mb CF card) you have to use the low quality, which at 10 frames per second, and highly compressed, is not very good. ... ...at 320x240, and is very highly compressed (it records in dot.mov format).
The MP3 player trys to give more functionality, but even with the auto turn off screen function, you'd be lucky to get an hour and a half out of the 3 triple A batterys, which not only cost a lot, are very awkward to charge (3 at a time?)
And the battery life is terrible. It would be nice to see an AC plug next to the video out, or instead of the tripod. It would also be ...

Advantages: Multi-functioning, cheap, cool gadget, great as a first video camera Disadvantages: low quality images, uses up batterys very quickly
I bought the Kodak Mc3 player becausei wanted a cheap (ish) digital camera/video camera to take on my Duke of Edinburgh expiditions that i didnt have to worry about getting broken/lost too much and it certainly did its job.
It came with a 16mb memory card which gives you about 5 mins video recording time and about 50 photos on the high quality setting and 10 mins recording time and 100 photos on the lower quality setting. I later bought a 32mb card ... ...can be found on the kodak website but i have still not founf out how to use the music function yet!
The camera and video recorder dont favour dark, low light area and its best to use the camera outside or in bright light to get the most out of your footage/pictures.
Its really easy to transfer images/footage to your computer with the little base that the camera slots into, but beware- it uses up battery when its doing this so you cant transfer ...

Advantages: Does three things in one and looks great Disadvantages: Eats batteries for lunch unfortunately!
I got one of these nifty little things for christmas a few years ago, and its just been the best little gadget I've owned since. Not only does it take pictures, but it records movies WITH SOUND and plays mp3's!!!!!! :) 1. The camera mode! Well it takes great pictures, and its fantastic for just having around and snapping away with! The picture quality is pretty good, but watch out for blurring, it blurrs rather easilly when you jolt it, but so do ... ...back allows you to see the pictures so you know what you've got :D!
2. Video mode!
You can have a great time making mini movies of anything and everything with this gadget, and having the sound on is great. Its so easy to use! But if you want to make bigger movies, invest in a larger Compact Flash memory card. The one that comes with it is a 16mb which can hold around 120 photos or around 5-10 minutes of movie. 3. MP3 Player!
Yes it does play ...

Advantages: multifunctional, fun Disadvantages: picture quality not so good
For the price that this sells at (I got mine at around £90 I think) it is a very good buy. If you principally want it as an MP3 player, like I did, then it plays with good quality, I was very pleased&when playing music the batteries last a good length of time too. If you're buying this as a camera, I wouldn't recommend it, as it has no flash, and the quality isn't great, you can only get decent pictures outdoors or in very bright light. The function ... ...but is also not great quality, but is reasonable, especially outside. The memory for this camera is stored on CompactFlash picture cards, which is good because the are re-writable, and if you want more memory for pictures you can delete some tracks of music or vice-versa. I would advise getting a 32mb or more memory card though, as otherwise you may find that it fills up quickly.
Music can play either through headphones or through the speaker, which ...

...camera when I bought the kodak mc3 but more an mp3 player which took flash media. I was delighted with what I recieved, an mp3 player with a camera on the side.
The camera doe 640x480 res stills. Which are fairly small and great for use on a homepage. It also has a video mode which more than anything else is just plain fun. The memory it comes with is only a 16meg card which is ok for pictures but can only fit 4-5 mps's, but you can easiliy upgrade ...
