For the price that this sells at (I got mine at around £90 I think) it is a very good buy. If you principally want it as an MP3 player, like I did, then it plays with good quality, I was very pleased&when playing music the batteries last a good length of time too. If you're buying this as a camera, I wouldn't recommend it, as it has no flash, and the quality isn't great, you can only get decent pictures outdoors or in very bright light. The function of shooting movies with this camera is lots of fun, but is also not great quality, but is reasonable, especially outside. The memory for this camera is stored on CompactFlash picture cards, which is good because the are re-writable, and if you want more memory for pictures you can delete some tracks of music or vice-versa. I would advise getting a 32mb or more memory card though, as otherwise you may find that it fills up quickly.
Music can play either through headphones or through the speaker, which has a decent volume,(for playing without headphones in a room etc). There are options for what style you want the music played in(rock, echo that kind of thing) and you can shuffle or repeat the playlist. The titles of tracks are also shown and you can play them at faster speeds to locate certain parts of an MP3(rewind/fast forward) and also pause or skip tracks.
There is a slide button on the right hand side on the MC3 player which has the 4 main functions: Capture Picture, Record a movie, Playback pictures and movies that have been taken, and finally the music option. There is a menu button from which you can delete tracks, change the equalizer, shuffle/repeat etc(this is while the slide button is set to the music option). On the main menu you can alter the date, choose whether sounds should play(such as a beep once a photo has been taken), you can also configure it so that when you hook it up to a TV you can view a slideshow of your pics and movies.
It's also easy to hook it up to your computer, with the handy stand, so that you can transfer music/pictures/and short movies.
Overall, I would probably reccomend this camera, and if I had another chance to choose, I would probably still pick this one. It is slim and also perfectly sized to fit inside your average camera case.
I hope this review is helpful :)
