...actually pretty impressive. Function The notebook works quite well with wireless internet and doesn't cut off often as I have found with wi-fi on some other laptops. It also has an impressive battery life, in a recent car journey, I found it lasted about 3 and 3/4 hours, easily enough time for all of the film I was watching as well as some of another. It is available in two versions, Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP Home., but the Linux has 512Mb of RAM and an 80Gb hard disk, the Windows one has 1Gb of RAM and a 120Gb drive. I personally own the windows version, since I know more about the operating system and prefer the high memory levels. ...should check their own website www.cardscan.com it is a good website and you can find info on their products, versions of cardscans avaiable, upgrades and it also has a comparing tool so you know which one is the right one for you, in fact there is no point in getting a super advanced one with a fancy look if your need is basic. What is also reassuring about this brand is that you can find a statement from their president Peter Weyman saying ""I guarantee you will be 100% satisfied with CardScan. ...I bought my Visioneer Strobe XP 100 because it is a great little scanner for use on the move. My main PC that I use for work is a laptop with docking station and I wanted something that would easily connect with that. I needed something that would let me organise all of my documents, photos, articles, brochures, and business cards and this Visioneer gave me all of that in a very compact unit that was light and easy to carry. It will pack easily into a decent sized laptop bag and gets its power from the USB port which mean I am able to scan documents anywhere I go and I don't have to carry lots of power leads and adaptors.
