...mum presented me with a Kodak Ultra disposable camera as a gift several weeks ago !
Left with little option by to go out and try it , I was pleasantly surprised .
The model I had did not have a flash . That was the first thing I noticed . However at £2.99 I didn't mind too much . Obviously this is a limiting factor with this particular model .
I think it normally retails at £3.99 this model . Apparently this was ... ...was OK.
Kodak do have an "Ultra Super Flash " in their disposable camera range for those who want a flash . This retails a little bit more at £4.99 - £5.99
Kodak also have an "Aquasport " and " Ultra Sport" as well in the range - none of which I have tried to date .
The black coloured camera itself is very compact and easily fits in the palm of an average sized hand.
I have always been sceptical about disposable cameras of any description . This is based on the principle that quality comes at a price particularly in photography.

I think it normally retails at £3.99 this model . Apparently this was on offer at a £1 cheaper in an ex catalogue shop.
Do be careful when buying this type of product that the camera has a good "use by" date . This should be printed underneath the camera and may not always be visible at first glance . Mine had a date of April 2003 so I was OK.

The black coloured camera itself is very compact and easily fits in the palm of an average sized hand.
The film is built in to the camera and must not be tampered with by the user . There are 27 exposures to be taken on the pre loaded film .
To use the camera is simplicity itself . There is no focus to worry about - it is a case of point and shoot .
I do not consider myself a photography expert by any means but this was so simple - I grasped the idea of what to press and how to do it straight away !
There is a simple grey coloured shutter button to press to take the picture -once your chosen subject is visible in the viewfinder.
One tip is not to stand too far away from the person or object you wish to snap . One criticism I have is that when the pics were developed the subject looked further away on the resultant photo than I thought they were at the time .
kodak in fact advise you to stand at least 1 metre away from your subject .
Once you have clicked a simple turn of a button anti -clockwise winds the film on to it's next number . Then it is ready to use again etc.
The picture quality was surprisingly good . Even landscape shots were clear , in focus and very respectable .
I think taking the pictures on a bright sunny day is beneficial with a camera of this sort . Lack of natural daylight is a serious problem that the camera cannot cope with .
However the price of £2.99 + a developing fee of only £1.99 make this kind of photography an incredibly good value experience .
Please note with this model film processing is not included and it is up to the buyer to find out the best deal for them.
Certain disposable cameras that cost a little more include the film develpoing costs as well .
All in all , it is a great little camera . Easy to carry , cheap , and good quality pics for the money it costs .
It is never going to be the best quality camera in the world when compared with expensive types of camera - SLR's ,and such like. Just be realistic with your aims and you won't be disappointed .
I have found the pictures scan very well onto my PC via a simple flatbed scanner .
I am now converted and have since gone out and bought another !
Advantages: Easy to use, cheap Disadvantages: Not excellent picture quality
Over the last few years Kodak has developed (no pun intended) its single use camera range improving every element from design to picture quality. The Kodak single use range now includes five models:
High Definition Daylight: Ideal for outdoor pictures, with extra sharpness.
Ultra Sport: Designed for outdoor activities, including water sports as it has a ten metre waterproof guarantee.
Ultra Compact Flash: High performance
Ultra 2 Formats: Produces ... ...27 pictures and is a Kodak 800 ISO. The camera has come a long way since its introduction and now looks stylish, with its grey surround – a far cry from the old cardboard version that was more embarrassing than the poses you were making! The camera is well built and hardwearing.
The camera has a built in flash which automatically goes off each time you take a photo and has a coverage of five metres. It also has a shutter speed of 1/125.

...from the ‘big’ names like Kodak and Agfa to the ‘own brand’ ones from Boots or Tescos. I tried the Kodak one even though they are all fairly similar.
These usually cost somewhere in the region of £7 to £8 but there are plenty of buy two get one free offers around so keep your eyes peeled.
The camera is made to be used just once – hence the term single use camera! It comes ready loaded with a film, usually having 27 ... ...to make before taking a picture, apart from switching on the flash if you need it, you just point and shoot. When the entire film has been used you just take the whole camera to the developers, you don’t have to rewind or unload the film.
The only mildly irritating thing if you’ve been used to a modern camera, is that the disposable does not have an automatic wind on facility so you have to remember to wind it on manually after each ...

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, no problem if lost Disadvantages: Not great quality
...table(or guest). The Kodak camera use Kodak film which is good quality. Having said that a camera that cost a few pounds is never going to compete with a top of the range camera. This camera really requires good light and still subjects. I suspect that the lenses are not of the best quality, and maybe when enlarged the pictures will not look so great(not that I have tried to enlarge them). The camera is easy to operate, all you need to do is point ... ...in some red eye. The Kodak model requires that you pay for developing, some other manufacturers provide prepaid envelope so that all you need to do is to post off your camera when finished and wait for the camera to be returned to you. This makes the whole thing even less hassle. I think Argos do special wedding sets complete with development, although these don't use Kodak disposable cameras(they cost 50 for 9 Jazz cameras).
The cameras are great ...

...and Fun (also single use) Kodak cameras. I brought three of the Advantix range (variable) and paid £8.99 each for two plus the freebie and I have not looked back since. There are many makes on the market and at Christmas 2000, Boots yet again had a Three for Two offer on their own disposable cameras. If I remember rightly they were around £7.99 each. These cameras come in a range of funky colours, Red, Blue, Purple, Gold, Silver and probably others. ... ...hence the cheaper price. Now for some of the technical data. The film speed is usually 400, and often contains 27 pictures within each camera, but always check the packaging so not to be caught out. Secondly, most disposable cameras have built-in flashes. The cheaper end of the market cameras are the ones which tend not to have them. There is no need to worry about loading film or batteries. They come in the camera and all you have to do is point ...

It’s got to the stage now in our sad student lives, that when we go out to perhaps have a couple of pints, we need to make some sort of record of the evening, (and sometimes mornings events), as we tend to forget what we have been up to.
You crazy students getting drunk and causing problems, spending our taxes on beer no doubt I hear you all cry, (I pay taxes as well unfortunately, and they wont give me any of my money back which annoys me, ... ...do not cause any problems however remembering what you did to embarrass yourself the night before is always a good thing to know, in case of Mickey taking the day after.
As pen and paper is not a good idea, tape recorder a bit pointless, and video recorder a bit expensive we tend to opt for the trusty disposable camera. It’s great you get 24+3 pictures of unbeatable quality, to remind you of a night out and all for around a fiver, plus developing ...

Advantages: Don't have to be afraid, that its gona break ! Disadvantages: Not very good quality.
is beautifully wrapped up in a paper on which is drawn the instruction what button to press and what to twist.
On other picture is drawn that people should be photographed on distance not less then 1 meter.
On the side it is drawn that the camera cannot be wetted and that it is wrong to hold the camera for a long time on the bright sun.
On the oder side i have noticed, that the working life has expired already two months ago. Then i have understood whi did they give me away 2 cameras so easily.
I have desided to take all 27 pictures whit one camera and to bring it to the same store. Also i have desided to unscramble the second camera and look what is inside. It was not so hard to make it. I have picked in four places and the cover has opened.
Inside was a charged film on which is written: Kodak 800 film; for use in Kodak ...

Although these can be handy at last minute, it isn’t always reliable. Leave it, and buy a cheap ‘en from Argos. You can get some for about £9,00 there, and in the long run it will be cheaper than getting this each time!

Why a Kodaksingle use camera
As is usually the case in the photographic market the branded products tend to give better results than some of the unbranded or lesser known brands of singleusecamera. You also find that some of the really cheap singleusecamera's are actually recycled case's that may have been used at least once and have just been resealed and loaded with sub-standard film that ...
