OCR - Readiris Pro 10.0

Advantages: Very accurate with printed media
Disadvantages: Not very accurate with reading handwritten documents

I am a big fan of OCR software and find that on occasions it can be very useful. OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition, and these types of applications are used for converting printed documents into editable documents on your screen. I recently bought Readiris Pro 10.0 and can truly say that this version is a whole lot better than the previous version, which did not have a very high success rate. Readiris Pro 10.0 now supports a huge range of languages - 117 in total! Ranging from Afaan Oromo right through to Zulu. once text has been recognised by the software, you can save it in 14 different text formats and six different image formats. Review of IRIS Readiris Pro 10 Complete package

A pro in its time

Advantages: Good in its time

It's my faithful old laptop but I do regret that I may have to replace it soon, due to it just getting old, wear and tear and all that jazz. Well, here's my view on my lovely aged laptop. I got old copper (my nickname for it because of its copper orange lid) for my birthday and I found the receipt in my mum's emails (I was and still am a terror for reading emails!) for somewhere way over £1000, this was when the satellite pro was a top of the range laptop and laptops were a lot more expensive. It's a Toshiba so naturally it's very good quality and I haven't had one problem with this laptop. It runs on Windows XP which is a great OS but it has a little ...
