I am definately not a techno type of person but can certainly recommend this datacable. It is a useful, functional piece of equipment which allows you to link your Sony camcorder to any kind of PC.
The main thing I would say is, that if you find yourself in need of this cable then the best thing to do is to shop around. There are bargains to be had and quite big differences in the prices charged for it.
Amazon is quite a good place to look, as not only do you get an Amazon price but there are other offers to be found there for new cables too. When I was looking the best deal available was £7.99 (plus shipping). Or of course you could order from Amazon when you are buying other items and then be eligible for free shipping if you spend £15. I got my datacable to add ringtones, logos and unlock it. You know, I actually never did any of these. I got bored of it after about 10 minutes. You have to fid somewhere decent to get the rigtone/logos from, then discover you have to pay somehow alot of the time.
Then there's the trying to connect it to your phone. Don't buy this without instructions!
You need to remove the back of the phone, and insert it down the side of the SIM, and hope it's in right. the cable has 6 little pins that touch 6 metal bits , and they have to touch, usually with you pushing dow o the cable to keep them touching!
In fact, you're probably better off just buying the ringtones out the back of Hello Magazine or something, it's so confusing.
I must have spent a good couple of hours trying to find some program that works to unlock. They all failed ...

The 3210 has a data connection port built in to the circut board that allows you to connect the phone to a PC. The datacables allow you to unlock your phone with unlocking software to use different network's SIM cards in a phone locked to a particular service provider. Unlocking with a datacable is now not neccesary as there are websites that provide the unlocking codes for free, calculated from the phone's IMEI number and the network code.
