    Advantages Advantages great price, my dog loved it, didn't end up in bits straight away!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages only lasted three months with my Staffie cross

    Last year we got a rescue dog called Banjo who is a Staffie cross. On first meeting him it was apparent he liked to chew his toys within an hour of him being home he had chewed through his rubber toy the homing centre had given him. So it was an internet search to see what we could get him that wouldn’t be in bits after an hour. I had heard of the Kong make and after searching saw they did an extreme version which they state is their most durable version of the original Kong toy. So we purchased one and gave it a go.     The Kong has been a big hit, it is available in almost every pet store even the smaller ones.The extreme kong is even better. I can definately say it has been a success for us. The durability is the best available in my opinion, having large/giant breeds of dog it can be hard to find toys and treats suitable for their large and incredibly powerful jaws and this is ideal. And also, it can keep a dog occupied for a great length of time with treats inside, i use peanut butter, mashed potatoe, large biscuits, but anything ur dog likes goes.     I bought this for my dog as he tried to chew everything insight. So i bought him it to redirect his pleasure for chewing on to something we both agree on. He had a habit of chewing shoes and as soon as i introduced the kong and taught him how to play with it he was ok. I had to to praise him as he was playing with the kong and i put some food in the middle to reinforce the idea. You can buy some filler to go inside.Now he spend hours chewing it.     After purchasing many many smaller "inferior" kongs (the red versions in particular) - we came across the Extreme Kong!!!! WOW! This piece of rubber is really amazing. We fill the Kong with all sorts of treats (peanut butter, mash potato, dog biscuits, scrambled eggs, rice - our dog is actually better fed than us!!!). You can cram so much food in the Extreme Kong and, unlike the red Kongs that take seconds to get through, keeps "Lucy" (the dog!) busy for at least half an hour.
