Advantages: Sharp images Disadvantages: none
...so I went for the Konica Digital Revio KD-310Z Digital Camera.
The KD-310Z satisfies my demands well, bringing ultra high-resolution 5-megapixel performance in a compact, lightweight, and easy to use body. They tell me that the KD-310Z is one of the world's smallest camera in the 5megapixel, 3X optical zoom class. Its classic dark grey stainless steel alloy exterior with a green LED indicator provides a contemporary appearance. The camera's ultra ... ...handbag, while a sliding lens cover protects the lens from all the crap in my handbag and enhances the camera's visual appearance. The high-performance, 3X optical Hexanon zoom lens and true-image zoom viewfinder give you professional performance results. The ultra high 5.23 megapixel CCD resolution ensures crisp, clear picture quality, even when you make enlargements.

Advantages: Compact, resistant, powerful, easy to use Disadvantages: Comes with little memory
I don´t happen to be a computer nor a photography freak, but I manage well with both disciplines, and I had had previous experiences with not-so-good digital cameras whose quality was not by far comparable to my good old optical one. But as finally digital cameras started catching up I decided to go for it, and try to get hold of a moderately good gadget.
After annoying a poor sales assistant for more than half an hour trying to make him explain ... ...of every camera offering around 3 megapixels and maximum price of around 400 pounds, I decided on this one... and have never regretted! By then, February 2003, I paid around 300 well-spent pounds for it. The characteristics that made me decide for it were several: the main thing was, of course, image quality: it´s 3.2 megapíxels, but apart from that, its definition and quality are outstanding; I was lucky enough to be able to see some prints coming ...

...about.... Konica! ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Konica Minolta is the 4th Japanese manufacturer of solutions of impression, photo material and medical imagery. Present in the whole world, Konica Minolta employs 34 710 people divided within its 140 subsidiary companies. The group has 10 development and research centers like 30 sites of production. In France, Konica Minolta counts 4 companies: Konica Minolta Business Solutions France, Konica Minolta Photo Imaging ... ...the numerical camera... but where Konica does not fail to be careful with its very dear consumers is, that once provided with your bifocal lenses you will be able to see appearing in small characters the following sentence: "the product illustrated on the boïte can be different from the real product (mouais... they do not wet themselves too all the same). In short, there was chance, because in our case, the desired product proved well to be that ...

Advantages: Super quality pictures and very compact Disadvantages: Takes time to recharge and lens assembly feels fragile
...Olympus and Canon and at Konica and Minolta. The chap in the local camera shop showed me examples of photos he'd taken of Ramsgate Harbour and the amazing thing was that the realistic quality of the reflections on the water from the boats was far superior for the Minolta and Konica than for the mainstream equivalent models.
Armed with this, it was down to design and the cigarette packet size of the Konica sold me on it.
The camera can take both ... ...reel just to get 10 half-decent pictures. As something of a technophobe, she has even taken a shine to the Konica and used it with some degree of success.
To sum up - a great little camera with many features and fairly easy to use; good value for money ...

Advantages: strong casing for safety and good picture quality Disadvantages: delay in taking multiple pictures
A great camera that can withstand a variety of knocks and bangs.
I've had this camera for 5 years now and never had a problem. It takes good clear pictures which are easily viewed on the camera or transfered to the computer.
Probably the most annoying thing is the delay between taking several photo's. If you want to capture a second photo you have to wait several seconds which is often too long. Also the time between pressing the button and the ... ...have to time it well! Saying that once I'd got the hang of it it was fine.
After 5 years the battery is beginning to lose its charger quicker so we are going to buy a new battery, but I feel that's a good life for a battery. ...

Manufacturer's product description
In digital cameras, 3.2 Megapixels takes you to a level of resolution where the results at popular print sizes are virtually indistinguishable from film. And yet you get all the benefits of digital: the ability to instantly select and reject your shots, to edit your images, to view them on a large screen, to email them or put them on your website - even to print them on your T-shirt. However, the Revio KD-310Z is in a class of its own, thanks to its Dual Slot memory. Its ability to accept both SD Memory Cards and Memory Sticks doubles its versatility. For a start, you now have a choice of recording media - and that gives you more than just extra memory. You can choose to use each one for specific purposes. You can copy files from one to the other. You can also choose from a much wider range of compatible devices. With the Revio KD-310Z you can even choose to shoot everything in high resolution. A built-in resizing function enables images to be directly converted to VGA or QVGA for Internet or e-mail use. As if all that wasn't enough, the Revio KD-310Z is packed with useful features and functions. For example, the three most popular - Play, Display and Delete - can be directly accessed by control buttons. Exposure, focus and white balance are all automatic. You also get a 3x optical zoom lens, a Macro facility that takes you down to 10cm, a range of flash options, including Night Portrait and Red-eye reduction modes - and the ability to record 15 seconds of movie too!
