when i got my konica minolta e50 last week i was a bit uncertain at first because of the make i will be honest i never heard of konica before but with a 2.5 inchlcd screen i had to give it a go.
With the camera having such a big screen i thought it would be quite a bulky camera well at 89 x 55 x 28mm its hardly large without gettin your tape measure out and trying to work the sizes out its pretty much the exact same size as your bank debit credit card and only weighing 130g without a memory card,
The konica has more than enough features and modes to keep you occupied for a fair amount of time, For example the movie mode i got my camera to get some pics of my son to send to my dad but with the movie mode little movies of my son are a lot better and the quality is absolutely amazing. You can't get much movie time with the 16mb sd memory card you get with it but 15 seconds is long enough to capture some amuzing moments. the disadvantages with the movie mode is you can zoom before you start recording but whilst your recording it has to stay like that and you cant zoom in when your browsing the movie youve just made.
Whilst the zoom feature on movie mode is quite disapointing the zoom on normal camera is quite impressive with a 3 x optical zoom and 4 x digital zoom with a 5.0 mega pixel quality needless to say the picture is crystal clear with an excellent flash wich prevents red eye, you can turn it off for day time or you can use the built in auto flash.Now i have actually found abit of a delay in the picture taking time
The sound on this camera is another great feature with the movie and the option were you can add sound to your pictures momentos peoples name what ever you desire. although the recording isnt that great it is only a camera and to have sound at all is a bonus.
This cameras menu is great its like a proper computer menu it has its own blue background with all the options you need really, your memory card options how much memory you have how much memory you have left, sound on off, picture options, function options and setup options. its easy to use all your buttons are in view and well labelled with symbols or names.
the charger is abit of a mess around it has to go in to an attachment before the camera but i suppose it is alrite because you plug your usb lead into the same attachment .
Its very easy to use i think jade goodear could probably work it out so you dont have to be albert einstien the software is really easy as well no messin around pop it in your cd rom and it does everything for you and when you plug it in your computer it recognises its there and even puts a new removable drive in your computer options.
im extremely happy with my konica minolta e50 love playing with it and with the 512sd memory card i just got for it i can see me having a lot more fun who needs top name brands this is cheap small light and very pleasing
