The DiMAGE Z10 is the digital camera to use when you want to take great pictures of a wide range of subjects, all day long. Its 32X total zoom power brings even distant subjects up...
more...close, and Rapid Autofocusing captures them in an instant. Plus, not only is the DiMAGE Z10 a sprinter with its fast startup time; it's also a marathon champ with power efficiency that allows you to take up to approximately 500 frames with the four AA alkaline batteries.

I'd been wanting a digital camera for ages. They'd come down to a price point that meant you can get a GOOD one for sensible money.

I'd rooted around the various camera review sites, and one thing kept coming back to me, that this camera was a cracker.

It was £150 at the time, and i had a budget of £200 so this allowed me to get 2 512MB SD cards at the same time.

A 512MB SD card will hold 250-300 images, and i'm not kidding when i tell you that even when using the flash for most of the pictures i took, i filled up the SD card with one set of 4xAA batteries. This thing's great on batteries, something i was wary of. Nothing worse than the batteries running out JUST as the sunlight was filtering through the trees perfectly. It uses AA batteries too, so it's not expensive to carry a spare set of rechargeables around with you, or even pop into a petrol station or shop if you get really stuck. For a few pounds, you can take another few hundred shots.

The quality of the images this thing takes are excellent too, i'm constantly being surprised by it. Having a decent camera makes you a better photographer, it's absolutely true, and although it's fairly cheap, it's got a full set of options for you to mess about with as you progress. Exposure time, aperture, white balancing, all the stuff that you'd want. There is, of course an automatic mode, but to get the most out of any camera will require a bit of experimenting, and for that, there's not a better camera i've used.

This camera is more than good enough for me, and i can't see myself replacing it until i make the step to DSLR, and that won't be for a few years yet.

If you're in the market for a sub-£150 camera, definitely take a look at this unit, it's excellent, and not just "excellent for the money", it's just excellent all round.

Finally, the tech specs. I've left them until the end, because these are less important than my opinion, as you can get the specs all over the net, and on Konica's site.
