The camera does take excellent photos, under most conditions. Sometimes the white balance ... ...in a room lit with both Tungsten lamps and some cloudy sunlight. This can easily be sorted by choosing the appropriate Kelvin temperature from the White Balance dedicated dial.
I also like the fact that you decide if you want to use the flash. Often even good cameras can leave subjects looking over exposed and washed out if they are a little too close to the camera. By having the choice of whether to lift the flash up or not provides ... more

There are several reasons why i chose this camera out of the three similarly matched cameras. Firstly, i do a lot of photography under dim conditions, so the anti-shake technology was a big positive. Secondly, it came with a 18-70mm rather than a 18-55mm lens like the other two, again, an advantage.
The camera does take excellent photos, under most conditions. Sometimes the white balance needs a little help though. For example when you are in a room lit with both Tungsten lamps and some cloudy sunlight. This can easily be sorted by choosing the appropriate Kelvin temperature from the White Balance dedicated dial.
I also like the fact that you decide if you want to use the flash. Often even good cameras can leave subjects looking over exposed and washed out if they are a little too close to the camera. By having the choice of whether to lift the flash up or not provides that extra layer of choice, allowing you to better judge whether you need it or not.
The lens autofocus is fast and accurate, and has a useful continuous mode for tracking fast moving action.
The other thing i love is how well it fits in your hand. Your fingers simply fall in all the right places, and the camera feels solid and chunky, without being plasticy of clunky.
On the whole a great buy, but the choice between the three really comes down to personal preference as to what features you want most.
Advantages: Ideal first SLR. Disadvantages: Too few pixels.
This is the first Digital SLR camara I bought. One of the main reasons for buying the Dynax 5D, is that my lenses from My old 35mm Dynax 4 fitted the 55mm ring. If you're just starting out with SLR, you can't do much wrong with this camera, you can find a good selection of lenses (that don't have to be made by Minolta if you're on a budget) and filters. The anti shake feture is good and will help a little for zoom photography. The built in flash ...
