Advantages: Value for money, excellent print quality, compact size Disadvantages: Can only be used with Windows - no Mac or Linux drivers

The compact size of this printer is a huge bonus - not being much larger than an inkjet printer makes it easy to position in a convenient place (bearing in mind that it is very heavy!). Ease of use is also a big plus - the operator panel is easy to see and interpret, and getting to the cartridges is a doddle. I bought one of these recently for home use and have been very pleased with it. The value for money is brilliant - the excellent quality of the colour prints and the speed at which they are delivered, are quite a surprise in this price range. Colours are strong and the print quality is virtually photographic. The build quality is sturdy too, moreso than I would have expected at this price - though having had several Konica and/or Minolta products over the years, I have always found the products to be quality ones.

I have mine set up on a (strong) shelf, which I had not expected to be able to do with a colour laser printer - as someone who works in I.T., I'm used to installing colour lasers the size (and weight!) of small fridges, so the dimensions of the Magicolor were a very pleasant surprise!

The only drawback to this printer is that it doesn't seem to be possible to use it with any operating system other than Windows - my main computer is a Mac though I also have a Windows PC and a Linux PC, and Konica-Minolta don't provide a driver for any operating system other than Windows (from 98 to XP). In my own case, I can simply transfer the file in question from Mac to PC and print it from there, but those without a Windows PC will not be able to use this printer. But, for those with Windows, I recommend this product highly.

Quick review of Konica Minolta magicolor 2400W
I bought this printer 18 months ago. Deeply unhappy with it. I wouldn't recommend it at all and I've had to bin it.
First, it is very noisy. Seems to got hrough a seizure everytime it wants to print.
Second, the manufacturer's cartridges leaked inside.
Third, the printing quality is not that great.
Fourth, it came up with error messages all the time.
This printer is more trouble that it is worth. The toners are also quite expensive. Go with an established make and my advice when buyinh a colour lazer: Always take out a 5 year extended warranty.
