of the cost of original manufacturers and can be used in many makes and models of digital device. Rechargeable digital batteries are rated in "mAh" which stands for "milli-ampere hours". This rating is used to state the storage capability of a battery, e.g. a 1000mAh battery would be capable of delivering 1000mA of current consistently for one hour whereas a 2000mAh battery would deliver the same 1000mA of current for two hours. Li-on rechargeable digital batteries can deliver 40% more capacity than comparably sized NiCd batteries and weigh less than the nickel-based batteries and develop no memory effect. U-Bop battery cells are environmentally friendly, feature a very high energy density and have no memory effect. All batteries are produced to the highest quality standards. A built-in microprocessor safeguards the cells by limiting maximum voltage and by protecting against deep discharge, short circuit and overload.Brought to you byU-BopThe Accessories Boutique

I had previously used a normal compact camera, but decided that I wanted a decent digital camera for my wedding.
One of the things that had really bugged me about the Creative Webcam, which I had occasionally used to take the odd digital photo, was the fact that it took for ever to take the photo so quite often you might think it hadn't taken the picture and moved the camera before it did.
I was therefore looking for something which had a rapid response. My other specifications were that the picture quality should be good (so 4MP was fine) and that it should be easy to use for a novice, but have more advanced features.

I took the camera out on a few excursions to test it, and was impressed with the photos you can take on automatic. The colours, as with all digital cameras, are not always spot on with the automatic mode, but you can fix that later in a photo editing suite. Even in pitch darkness the photos seemed to come out fine (when you use the flash, of course!), even though the autofocus moans that it isn't locked.
The speed of the startup is truly amazing. There is a plate on the front that you pull across, and as soon as the lens is unobscured the lens shoots out and you can take a photo almost instantly.
The zoom lens is reasonable, although I think it only actually has seven different positions rather than a constant variation which might put some people off.
There are a number of semi-automatic type settings, such as portrait, landscape, etc. There is one, called "Angel" which is apparently meant to make people look better. I'm still not sure exactly what it is meant to do or what difference it makes to your photos, but its something to play with!
You then have a variety of manual settings (aperture, flash, etc) for the more advanced user. You can have photos taken over several seconds for low light photos, red eye correction (which is off by default, but is on the menu), there is a two setting timer delay for taking photos of yourself and the essential place to screw in the tripod to use this facility. I have seen people moan that the screw-thread is on the opposite side to the button used to take photos and that it would cause undue movement in long exposure photos, but it doesn't bother me. After all, why not use the timer then, as it's obviously not an action shot?

The battery life is reasonable, although you might want to buy a spare if you are going on holiday with it, or you want to take a lot of photos on an outing. The battery life can be extended if you turn off the screen on the back and use the optical viewfinder instead.
The screen itself is bright and can be seen even on a sunny day. One slight niggle is that when you delete a picture from the menu on this screen it then takes you back to the first image again, so if you want to keep looking to see which ones to delete you have to go back through them all again.

The camera also has the added advantage that it is able to accomodate both SD or MMC memory, but at the same time take a Memory Stick, allowing you to increase the amount of memory you can use, as well as allowing you to use old memory cards that you might have. You are able to determine which card is used first, and once this one is full it then saves subsequent shots onto the second card.

So, to my wedding... I gave the camera to one of my friend's boyfriends with about 30 seconds' instructions (we had lost the flowers). He used it all the way through the wedding ceremony and until after we had had all of our photos taken at the reception. At this point the battery died and I got the camera back (and swapped battery). I then several more shots throughout the evening.
The following day I took a look at the photos that had been taken and was very impressed with the results. The photographs taken in the church were a little dark, but this was easily remedied using Paint Shop Pro. The remainder of the photos were all of high quality, in focus and the colours were pretty good. Given that I hadn't had time to explain how the camera worked, I was particulary impressed with the photos taken on automatic.

Overall I think this is an excellent camera. It doesn't have the highest specification available, but is good enough for most people, and at around £200 it is a great buy. Highly recommended.
like portrait sport etc, flash options.
oh of course this does video as well!!!
one BIG benifit of this SMALL camera is its BIGGER screen then most other cameras in its price range its 2 inch instead of 1.5 or anthing else, which means that any one who has eyesight problems wont struggle as much with this screen. now usually bigger screens have clarity problems i.e. the picture looks fuzzy but this one has conquered that fear and produced amazing results i have tested this camera and have to say its grat value for money and excellent looks and performance make it a allround good camera to buy,but.....
there is a competitor.... the konica-minolta reviokd420-z a excellent competitor slightly cheaper and faster but feature wise a much for muchness basically, they also both have titanium shells which could be a benifit ...
When the Revio KD-400Z series was introduced it broke new ground as the world's first digital camera with Dual Slot technology. But if you're looking for the ultimate in 4 megapixel digital cameras, meet the new KD-420Z. Beneath that handsome, restyled stainless steel and aluminum case are packed an array of new features that will make your digital photography even more exciting and rewarding than you thought possible!Incredible though it may seem, Konica Minolta has made the KD-420Z even smaller and lighter. Faster, too - a world-beating 0.9 seconds to open, focus and shoot! And the results are now even more spectacular, thanks to the upgraded GT Hexanon 3x Optical Zoom lens that features a special treatment to suppress flare and edge distortion, delivering extraordinarily high image resolution. Combined with the 2x digital zoom, it offers an outstanding 6x zoom range. To help you get the best out of every situation, the KD-420Z offers a choice of six digital scene setters. Portrait, Landscape and Night View you're probably familiar with; but new are Angel, for beautiful skin tones; Snap, which sets the focus from 0.8 - 2.5 meters for quick shots at difficult subjects, and Sports, for fast-moving action scenes.Ever wished you'd been able to give a shot just a touch more exposure? Or a little less? No problem now, because you can set the KD-420Z to automatically bracket the exposure and/or focus for every shot - and then you just choose the best of three.Like to get really close-up? Select wide zoom and the Super Macro mode takes you within 5 centimeters. You can shoot for longer too. A new energy-efficient design has significantly increased battery life. Now you need never miss any magic moment. Catch it in movie - with sound. Or hold down the shutter button and fire off 3 shots in just over a second. And with its pace-setting Dual Slot technology, you need never run out of storage either. You can use both SD memory cards and Memory Sticks - and even swap from one to the other.
