Korg Micro X Music Synthesizer

Korg microKorg a great sounding Synth even with limited polypony.

Advantages: amazing sounds, with real depth and realness
Disadvantages: limited polyphony and memory bank, small keys

I have seen this piece of kit on stage with so many musicians ranging from the killers to my humble self. This instrument does come with some limitations, but what do you expect for something so small. Sometimes as a 4 note polypony but if you combine oscilators this can quickly turn into a single note instrument. but the range of sounds are amazing and after a quick flick through the manual youll find something you love. When creating digital music with my computer and a suibale soundcard i have really enjoyed using the arpeggiator and the build in effects. the only problem i have with this instrument is the keys are very small and seem cheap compared to the rest of the instrument, but this can easy be midi controlled by another keyboard of ful size. i have played too much with the vocoder part so i cant comment. ...

microRUBBISH!

Advantages: lightweight
Disadvantages: too many - look at the review..

The microKORG is one of the best selling synthesizers worldwide and has been used by several electronic bands such as Enter Shikari and Massive Attack. The box simply contains the tiny 2kg microKORG itself, the vocoder microphone, power supply and manual. Users may at first be surprised by exactly how small the product is if they haven't seen it in real life before. It has only 3 octaves, and the keys are reminiscent of those found on a toy keyboard. One thing is for sure; don't expect to be playing any Bach or Beethoven on this baby, as it is almost impossible to get any articulation or expression in the cheap, plastic, weightless keys. The Kaossilator is a must have gadget for all music producers

Advantages: Portable synthesiser to create songs on the go!
Disadvantages: If you switch it of it won't safe your loops!

The Kaossilator is a portable music synthesiser. It has a jack for your headphones and runs with AA batteries. All you do is switch it on and turn the jog dial to change between beats, sounds and ambience tunes. you can loop individual sounds and record new sounds to it and create your own song on the go. It can easily be connected to your MAC or PC so you can record your loops into your sound recording software for exapmle into logic or garage band and rearrange the loops there if necessarry. It alowes you to change the bpm rate and change the keys. You simply play the different tunes by moving your finger over the touchpad of Kaossilator.
