I first came across Korres accidentally and have tried quite a few of their range now.

Korres
-----------
If you read my review on Korres Basil Lemon Shower Gel you can skip these couple of paragraphs as the information about Korres is the same.
Korres is a Greek company set up in 1996 and developed from the first homeopathic pharmacy in Athens. They offer a complete range of skin, hair care, sun cream and herbal preparations. They use natural, quality ingredients but are sensibly priced. They avoid synthetic ingredients for example instead of using petrochemicals they use vegetable oils.
They don’t have a definite stance on animal testing although they claim to do their best to ensure that their products are not tested on animals and state where rare materials are used, they are done so in a controlled manner, although it surprises me that their stance isn’t totally against animal testing it is at least a realistic statement I guess. They also recycle.

Cedar Shower Gel
--------------------------
It comes in a transparent container which holds 250 ml. it has a wide white top and the container is basically no frills. The gel itself is a quite a dark brown

The product description reads: An amalgam of earthy and forest tones with an amber shade

Contains:
--------------
• Active Aloe: moisturising, antioxidant, supports skin's immune system. Active Aloe juice is rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and antioxidant enzymes. Korres also state that due to its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis, Aloe Vera gel retards skin ageing but I rarely believe claims such as these
• Wheat Proteins: forms a protective film on the skin helping it to maintain its natural moisture levels
• castor oil derivative instead of petrochemicals
• Mineral oil free, silicone free and propylene glycol free,
• enriched with active plant extracts although these they don’t specify (trade secrets perhaps)

The aroma
-----------------
The description of the product suggests the will smell like a chunk of wood but it doesn't. It is a hard aroma to describe; it is warm and rich with a kind of nutty smell. Im sitting here sniffing the bottle trying to find the words to describe it and I can’t really except to say it is a very masculine smell yet quite sensual; it’s the kind of smell that makes you want to breathe it in, an outdoor kind of aroma. You can probably tell I like this smell but it isn’t one I use myself, I buy it for my geeky friend.
Men are hard to buy products for I think as they frequently don’t finds the smells I prefer to be ones they like. This one though pleases us both. The smell lingers on the skin only for a short while, nowhere near as long as the lemony ones I like. Korres highlight this on the label and explain that the “fragrances have been selected with the criterion of the maximum compatibility to the skin. The duration of these fragrances is therefore rather short.” After a couple of hours the smell is gone which pleases the man as he isn’t fond of smelling like a bordello
Its another fragrance that leaves the bathroom smelling good and for me , is more of an evening smell than a morning one.

It does leave his skin feeling good, and he does admit to this. The wheat proteins apparently leave your skin feeling as soft as if you had applied a moisturiser. Korres do make a moisturiser to match most of their fragrances (body milk they call it ) but I have more chance of getting him to eat a grub than apply a moisturiser. So this shower gel is a kind of back door to moisturising. Men’s skin feels nicer to touch when its smooth, just like women’s, not that many of them realise it

It isn’t a cheap product though; costing around £6-£7 for 250 ml. You only need a small amount , as it lathers up really well on a sponge. It does last a long time so you do get your moneys worth. If you aren’t sure if the man in your life would like it you can get a trial size of 50 ml for £3.

If you fancy trying it you can but it from Selfridges or online stockists
