This is a recent favourite of my hubby after we had a meal at an Italian restaurant and he discovered that the dressing on the salad was balsamic vinegar.

***What is it***
It's a reduced fat salad dressing made from balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. It comes in a 250ml glass bottle and costs around 79p from most supermarkets.

***Directions***
Simple really, drizzle it over your salad leaves or whatever else you fancy.

***Taste Test***
The dressing is dark brown in colour with flecks of herbs with a fairly runny consistency (makes it easy to drizzle) and has a light oily sheen.

It smells very rich and olivey (is that a real word?) without being too overpowering, with the subtle sharpness of the balsamic vinegar tingling your nostrils.

Once you have drizzled it over your salad leaves and tossed them, your leaves are coated in this lovely, olivey frangranced dressing which makes the leaves look shiney and very appetising. It really makes you want to tuck in.

On tasting, the first thing that hits you is the rich olive taste, followed by the sharp tang of balsamic vinegar which combined together tastes quite sweet. You definitely don't need much of this as the taste is very concentrated.

***Would I remmend it?***
All in all I think this dressing definitely adds to the overall enjoyment of a salad (if you like salad dressings) and the fact that Kraft have bothered to make this in a light version makes me very happy!

It has an excellent use by date (the one I've got at the minute is dated for expiry in January 2007 and we've had it for a couple of months) which is good as a little goes a long way and it can take quite a while to get through a bottle.

I would definitely recommend this dressing to anyone who hasn't tried it yet. A true mediterranean flavour. It's yummy, especially if you finish your salad off with a few shavings of parmesan cheese!
