...The first thing you'll notice when looking at this laptop is the built quality - something to be expected from Sony in general and this model is no exception. The thing that really attracted me to this model was the screen - one of the first to use Sony's black onyx screen. The definition is superb and has a matt black finish to reduce glare - this really does work. Music and video playback was one of my main reasons for purchase and watching DVDs on the large clear screen is a joy. Sound quality is also pretty good for a laptop. In terms of speed, the vaio is plenty fast enough for my needs. Never had any problems with DVD and xVid playback, don't tend to play games but the spec says it all. 60Gb hard drive also big enough but useful a extra feature is the flexible port - allowing an extra drive or battery to be slotted...
