Advantages: Cool and refreshing Disadvantages: A bit artificial
Kronenbourg is a decent enough beer (for its type), but until recently, I'd never really been tempted to try their wheat beer version - Kronenbourg Blanc. All that changed during last week's heatwave when confronted with a selection of what would usually be a mouth-watering choice of ales in the pub. It was just too bloomin' hot! My eye was drawn continually to the shiny chrome, ice-cold, condensation-saturated font of the aforementioned beer.
So ... ...in 1664 when Jerome Hatt produced his first barrel of beer in Strasbourg. In the 1800's the brewery moved to the district of Cronenbourg - the K was added to make it sound more Germanic and hence to appeal to beer lovers, in 1947.
The company attribute their growth to the period after WW2 when they began selling their premium Bièrre d'Alsace in small bottles when most other lagers were low in strength and sold in litre bottles.
Following many mergers ...

Advantages: Its Refreshing and Very Drinkable Disadvantages: Not To Everyones Taste
Kronenbourg Blanc is an exciting new brand extension to the Kronenbourg family, brewed deep in the heart of France, and brewed to a recipe inspired by the 13th century Cervoise simple brewing style.
Kronenbourg Blanc is a white beer! White beers describe the physical appearance of the beer. As Kronenbourg Blanc is pale in colour and cloudy it gives the appearance that it is "White".
Kronenbourg Blanc comes in a 500ml bottle distinguishable by its ... ...a bottle opener! (1664 Blanc is Also Available On Draught)
Once in your glass you look and realise the beer is cloudy but this is normal! It is of a very pale yellow colour and carbonated (Fizzy)
The beer itself has a rather odd flavour! Upon taking my first taste I found it like a fruit salad in a glass! Hints of peach and pear with a citrus twist as well! It's very sweet and very drinkable! It has subtle after tones with a crisp bite, very refreshing, ...

Advantages: Different to other lagers, very refreshing! Disadvantages: A bit pricey!
...quality and smoothness as standard Kronenbourg 1664, with a very different twist. I would strongly recommend it and if you haven't tried it then you are missing out!
Kronenbourg 1664 standard is a prestegious premium quality beer, and the Blanc (French for white) is one step up from that, giving you that swauve sophisticated impression at the bar. It is easily identified by the traditional Kronenbourg label, except in a white background on the taps ... ...The only disadvantage of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc is the price. Your average pint down the pub will cost you a minimum of about £2.65 (I have not seen it anywhere for less, but could be wrong), and often more. Also it is not as widely available as many other brands of more well known beer. If you cannot find it in any of the pubs in your local town but wish to try some white beer, you could try the more common Hoegaarden (available in Wetherspoons ...

Advantages: Distinctive, Tasty, Strong Disadvantages: 1 or 2 are enough
...a lover of the normal Kronenbourg 1664 larger with its distinctive punchy taste and was lucky enough to have a bottle of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc for my birthday.
Once the 500ml, white bottle had been in the fridge for a day or two be suitably chilled I emptied the contents in to a pint glass. With the 'Blanc' title I was expecting it to be lighter then the standard Kronenbourg and indeed it was, however I was not expecting it to a slightly cloudy ... ...far I have only seen Kronenbourg Blanc bottled in supermarkets but apparently it is available in some pubs - maybe it just hasn't made it to South Wales yet ! and it is a little more expensive than the normal Kronenbourg but maybe that's due to the increased packing costs as it is only available in fancy looking bottles.
In summation, its different, well worth a try but not something you could drink all night. ...

Advantages: So yummy!! Disadvantages: Quite expensive, but still worth it
This has to be the yummiest beer I have tasted in a long time. It's lush!! I first experienced this beautiful beer after a hot and sticky 3 hour car journey last month. We stopped at a nice pub in Newbury and sat in the beer garden with our tall glasses of this new beer we had decided to try. And we have bought it at every opportunity since! It was perfectly refreshing for a hot day.
It is so easy to drink, very tasy and very fruity. Such a lovely ... ...and said it was drinkable! This is a perfact summer drink, and I'm sure will be very suitable for a winters evening next to an open fire too. It is a bit more expensive than other beers, but well worth it as it is very high quality. You can get a big bottle of it at Tesco for £1.99, and that is the price I have bought it for in local offies too. Pubs are slowly introducing this drink to their punters, but not quick enough in my opinion! Very nice, ...
