Giant Navy binoculars"Kronos" 20x60 binoculars.
First the technical specifications
Magnification 20x Angle of field of view 3.34' Linear field of view 1000m: 62 Exit pupil diameter 3mm Eye relief 11 mm Overall dimensions 265x218x77mm Weight 1.45kg (3.6lbs) Made in Russia Traditional style centre focus. Right ocular dioptre compensation. Z-style aircraft grade aluminium alloy body, Can be clamped to a tripod with a tripod mount separately purchased.
These are superb optical observation instruments that are designed for wildlife, sporting events, Night sky and other low light situations and any other open air event.
They are capable of a short range focus (25-30yds) but are also capable of rapid adjustment to a far object. Thus you can focus on a small bird in a nearby bush and swiftly look at a mountain in the distance.
To be perfectly frank I do not understand some of the technical specifications. However I do understand what works.
These binoculars are not rubber coated or armoured in any way. They are however of a very robust making I have heard many people decry the quality control of Russian or previous Soviet products. Yes there were problems sometimes, but these are as good as anybody’s. Personally I think that they are very good.
Generally you will get a case, neck strap and end caps supplied. Sometimes the case is leather, sometimes it is padded nylon. I have had problems with the straps of both types of cases. Some straps on the leather cases are so thin they break very easily. Usually at the wrong moment. Or they are not secured to the case very well. This has happened to me with each type of case. So beware!
The depth perception I have found is superb. Some people have stated that Russian coatings make for a slight yellow or amber tint in the view. Perhaps it is my eyes but I have not noticed this.
There are a very wide variety of binoculars on the market. Many are far smaller and lighter. It all depends on you. What you want and what you want to see. These are not the lightest. Holding these up to your eyes for long periods at any one time is tiring. These can be mounted onto a tripod with an attachment that can be purchased separately I have an elasticised shoulder harness that I have found very useful. But it is a matter of personal choice.
I have found these binoculars to be superb over any distance when out wildlife spotting. I chose these over any other smaller and lighter models for their qualities.
You may have to shop around to find these, but they are out there. Look for the best deal, and get out there watching the wildlife.

I have owned my pair for 13 odd years now, they are fantastic.
Don't know how much they would cost now, but if anyone is after a decent pair of bins and find a pair of these for sale, I would definately recommend you bought them, you can't go wrong.
