...In December 2006, my coffee filter machine broke, well, it was the operators’ error, but I thought it was broke … so, I bought a new one: the Krups version.
For those who are unaware, a filter coffee machine is, an electrical device that filters water through ground coffee, into a jug underneath. The jug is kept hot on a heated base, for you to drink at your leisure.

Currently on UK TV (Sunday BBC1) there is a very good looking screen adaptation of George Eliot's “Daniel Deronda”, in which Gwendolen says to Henleigh :-
“…I dislike what I don’t like more than I like what I like.”
I have sympathies with that attitude. I think. For instance, I probably dislike really bad coffee more than I like good coffee.
But perhaps not more than truly great coffee.
Instant.
Time was I would not have instant coffee in the house. Since finding Nescafe’s Alta Rica, I’ve actually drunk a great deal of it.
“Full bodied and bold”, is how it describes itself, and actually it’s not bad…for an instant coffee.
In fact somewhere around here there is a good (vh) opinion on the stuff by ‘stevethesleeve’.

...*I think I should point out that this model is no longer on the market, however it has been replaced by a similar model, and a lot of my comments will apply to the new version just as they do to this old one.*
I love coffee. I drink at least one cup a day and when I am sitting exams at least 726, or thereabouts. So it is imperative that I like my coffee maker. For that reason I have stuck with the Krups range for my last three coffee machines. Three? They must be rubbish if you've needed three! Ah, no. I will explain.
First I had the bog standard stand alone Krups filter machine. It has a short squat glass jug and is fairly standard - it never changes over the years. Then I moved in with my boyfriend who had the super stylish version of this, with a much taller, svelter jug. This obviously superseded mine so I jettisoned it...
