Now listen to me! Krups is a great brand usually. I have to admit that I have never owned a Krups machine but my friend Raymond owns one. I went to his house the other night and he made me a cup of coffee. But here’s the catch: he took an hour to complete the task. He was up to his eyeballs in coffee powder, beans of various sorts, homunculi (as he calls them, really they’re just ornaments) and boiling water. You may be about to scream “but this Raymondo, for what is he famous? How can we trust that he is not just useless?”. To which I would reply as follows:

This is the Raymond who in his younger years cured the common cold using pure coffee beans from Nicaragua and then lost the recipe. He has had a cold ever since. But I digress! Allow me to continue the story. Essentially what I say is this: the Krups machine is not ‘espresso’ it is ‘decellerando’ (which in italian means to slow down). The coffee is great, yes, but to be honest it takes far too long. The finish is stylish, though…it pumps the water, boils it up and bingo! Barrah! Coffee waiting to enliven you… hurrah.

There are those who find my reviews fanciful and lacking in details. For those miserable people, I present this:

You have to use nespresso capsules in this machine. There is a 1.1 litre water reservoir which is pretty good. The milk produced really is perfectly thick and frothed, believe me. The internal pump is very powerful and has many uses. It has automatic descaling. This machine is great because the pump produces better coffee than basic steam-based machines. The water tank is removable which means you can easily fill it up.
