Advantages: Keeps baby warm Disadvantages: Get a bit small after a couple of months
...I have several hoodedtowels for my baby boy, Oliver. Some were gifts from family and friends and some were bought along with the weekly shop from Asda. This has given me a wide assortment of colours and types.
** A What? **
Alongside your bath time essentials of baby soap and shampoo and a hand cloth or baby sponge, you are going to need something to wrap baby in when they get out the bath. A normal towel will do, but when you have a tiny newborn you might find that normal towels are too big.
Also, the transition from the warm water of a bath to the cooler air of the bathroom or nursery can result in baby getting a bit chilly. A large proportion of body heat is lost through baby's head, so a hoodedtowel is an ideal solution to this problem.
They are usually square shaped, about 75cm by 75cm, and have a hood in one...

Advantages: baby looks cute in it Disadvantages: expensive purchase
...in the towel after their bath and the hood prevents heat loss through the babys head.
These towels can be bought as part of a set, which include face cloths.I'M not sure how much my son liked his towel as he has never been too impressed when I take him out of his bath!I don't think the screams are a comment on this product though! As you would expect the towel is absorbant, washes well, with no colour fade. These towels are available in a variety of lovely colours.
Although they make a nice present I can't see much advantage over using a normal towel! It is another item to store!
The towel is now used to wrap my sons baby doll in!
Thanks for reading!...

Advantages: Babys head is dry very quickly Disadvantages: Normally they are too small.
...I have around 5 of these and I found at first baby looks stunning in these and their heads are kept dry which is fantastic as they lose heat when their head is cold which is often after a bath!!
I have purchased 2-3 from Tesco, 1 from Mothercare and 1 from Primark. I found the Tesco Roo hoodedtowels looking stunning but they weren't thick enough and I found my baby shivering after every bath! Poor thing! The Mothercare towel was very thick and soft and this one kept her very warm it also had lovely embroidered Giraffes and was very bright and last but not least the Primark one has Giraffes too and is very soft indeed and also comes with a free wash mitt!
I think they should produce these in bigger sizes and make the majority of them thicker!! I don't think they remember that baby is often cold after a bath.
I think it is so...
