I have been with Guardian Direct (became NU) who were initially very competitive compared with traditional bricks and mortar brokers, I switched to GD when call centres started business, but their price has risen steadily over the years.
One of the few unsolicited phone calls that has been of interest, KwikFit offered a far far more competitive quote based on their own panel of insurers, 25% cheaper than Norwich.
Pleasant and friendly call centre staff based in Scotland, returned my calls and were knowledgeable and helpful, doing everything they said they would. Fast documentation received next day.
In effect I could also afford to ditch the RAC and use KwikFits Europ Assistance instead (with free home-start) bundled in with the same package for free, so I saved even more.
Based on initial experience I am very happy to recommend them. A good package of benefits. Of course, I always hope and pray that I never need to use the motor policy.......
